I'm just wondering but, Why not put the motor in yourself if you get it replaced free? Me and my dad pulled mine out, had it rebuilt and put it back in ourself for just over a grand. (cost of actual rebuild)

It's not terribly hard to swap motor for motor. Just time consuming.
Thats a really nice looking car, hate to see you sell it that cheap and regret it possibly later. (no offense to dmw319)

Actually, I do have a few reasons as to why. First, I don't have a garage to put the car in to do the install. Second, I purchased the car in pretty crappy condition 2 years ago, and have put over $5000 into it to get it where it is at now.

Yes, the motor is being replaced by the warranty company, but the labor rate they are willing to pay is not enough to cover the entire cost, and I am completely out of money. I figured that at least someone here, who obviously has their own love/hate relationship with their own f-body, would like to have the car or replacement engine to build up, or use for parts.

I have a large family, 4 boys under the age of 7, and don't really have the time to spend on the car. Plus, it is getting harder to justify the cost to my better half.

I am selling it here for $1000, which seems pretty cheap, for 2 reasons. One, I owe just a few hundred to pay it off. Two, I know that all of us hear are trying to make our cars in our own best image, so I might as well contribute to that for someone willing to spend a small amount of cash for a potentially larger payoff.

some people don't want the hassle or probably doesn't have the place to do it. DMW319 knows how to do this and more.

I hope he still has it in a few weeks. I'm just too busy right now at both of my jobs and still haven't gotten the wife's jeep fixed. ugh!

I have received the following responses for my craigslist ad:

"Would you take $100 per week payments? My dad won't buy it outright for me":slap:

"Would you be willing to trade for my non-running bike? I can get you an engine that works.":twak:

"How much of the car are you willing to sell?" (WTH does this even mean)

So, based on these inquiries, I would assume that I will have the car for quite a while. Prob long enough for you to pick up, but I make no guarantees.

Ok...willing to go down to $700 w/o the engine. Warranty is not willing to ship the engine after 10 days of the initial claim, which was on Tuesday of last week. So any takers for $700?

Parting out the car would net anyone more than $700...easy.

I can have towed to anyone within 25 miles of Nashville, TN 37203.

It's not that they won't give me an engine, but it is actually written into the warranty contract that once a claim has been placed, the claimant has 10 days to have a replacement part shipped out, in this case, the entire engine.
