ohhhh, i see....my bad for making a joking comment in my own thread

and you'll find, by re-reading my original post, that i'm not looking to sell it to you guys or let it go for a bargain. so no need for that. im getting advice from fellow members, not pawning off the car.

If your headlights were silver instead of black I would def take them off your hands lol. Good luck
did you pick yours up privately or from a dealer, and what kind of mods did it have when you got it? basically stock or anything comparable to my mod list? i baby mine quite a bit so she's in great shape for an old lady with a decade under the belt.

are you talking about the "chrome" finish halos? im sure kristen has had her eye on my lights for quite some time waiting for a sale lol ;)

I got mine privately. It was all stock except flowmaster exhaust. Ya Im talking about the chrome finish headlights. It would flow better with my car then the black backing. Also you might be able to get more $$$ out of your car overall by taking all your mods off and selling them seperate. Since mods dont really add any value to any car they are put on.

^ Disagree. It depends on the mods.

Vehicular history also plays a role too, more so than supporting mods. IIRC, this one was in a front end collision last year. But location will play the biggest factor on asking price. If it were my car, I would try to sell it toward the upper range of what other clean V6s are going for.

As an example, in my area even the cleanest and lowest mileage V6s are going for no more than $5k. V8s are averaging between $7-9k for average condition and only the showroom cars are going for $10k or more.

bingo pace, you're exactly right. the 'maro took a front driver's side collision, but thankfully everything was purely cosmetic, although that is a blemish on the record even though the car has been fully restored.

but damn i wish fbodies were going for the same price ranges in my area as im hearing from you guys. a decent ls1 with even light/free mods and 50k on the clock will easily take 10k to get, but i realize the 3.8 is going to pull off less of course. im just hoping the work i've put into it will attract the right kind of coin i need.

i guess the silver lining of it all is when i go hunting for an SS i can find them for cheaper in other areas to make it easier on my wallet. when my pops and i picked up the z28 a few years back at our chevy dealer it ran about 13k for a 2000 M6 ls1 with 53,000 miles so i guess prices are high in my area due to supply and demand....fbodies are never on the lots and go quickly if they're even in remotely good shape.

As a fellow member of the 3M Mafia, I should get first pick of mods if you go that route ;) haha jk. But I think you should try and sell it with the mods, someone whos into the V6 scene and is looking for something like what you have would buy her, if not, return back to mostly stock and sell/keep the mods. Whatever you decide to do, good luck bro!

I'd say.. Do an engine swap. How much are those motors anyways? I just looked at the first page on ebay and there are a bunch of ls1+tranny packages for under 5k. Alot around the 2-3k range. You'd be paying more in the difference of a new car and remodding it unless you find a hell of a deal. Not to mention that will save you the hassle of selling and buying and dealing with titles.

Hell.. I might look into doing an engine swap now that I see these prices.. There's one for 5k with a manual trans and all the harnesses.

X2 I plan on doing this one day aswell. It just make so much more sense to me. Not to mention you know your own car. If you buy someone else's LS1 you really don't know how it was treated... People can tell you anything.
