    Tune-Up Kit
    This is a tune-up kit I put together when I was going to put a new 3.8 V6 in my 99 Firebird. I ended up doing an LS1 swap so these parts never got used. Everything is brand new and most of it was bought at Autozone. Here is a list of what is included:

    -Fram Oil Filter (Part Number PH3387A)
    -Bosch Spark Plug Wires (Part Number 09381)
    -NGK TR55 V-Power Copper Spark Plugs (Part Number 3951)
    -Failsafe 192 Degree Thermostat (Part Number 7203-192)
    -Goodyear Gatorback Belt (94.5" Length, Part Number 4060945)

    Everything was bought new for approx. $100.

    Brand New GM Crank Bolt And Longer Install Bolts
    This is a brand new GM crank pulley bolt for 97-02 F-Bodies with the 3.8 V6. It is GM part number 24506341. These have been discontinued for a while and are very hard to find. I bought it new from NewGMParts.com and had to pay them an extra $30 to track this one down for me. I am also including two longer bolts to help with the crank pulley installation. It cost me around $55 to buy all of these bolts.

    Brand New 3.8 V6 Rebuild Gasket Set
    This is a brand new gasket set for the 3.8 V6 made by Reliant Gasket. I believe this kit includes every gasket for the entire engine (Head Gaskets, Oil Pan Gaskets, Intake Gaskets, Valve Cover Gaskets, Timing Cover Gasket, Water Pump Gaskets, Throttle Body Gaskets, Etc...) The lower gasket set is part number LS 8127 and the upper gasket set is ERS 8127A. The lower gasket kit will fit all 95-05 3.8 V6's with VIN K and the upper gasket kit will fit all 00-05 V6's with VIN 2. The upper gasket set will fit all 95-05 V6 Camaro's And Firebirds with VIN K. I believe this kit was approx. $125 when I bought it. Reliant no longer advertises this complete kit, they only sell a smaller kit now.

    99-02 F-Body Drive-By-Wire Throttle Body
    This is a used drive-by-wire throttle body from a 1999 Firebird with 60k miles. Was working perfect when removed.

    gasket kit is tempting. that throttle body doesnt look like its the drive by wire one.
    Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?

      The throttle body is 100% drive by wire. See where the plug is, and the rounded section where the motor is?

          drive by wire = electronic tb (which is shown for sale here)
          drive by cable = tensioned cable "wire" tb (which is the older style tb that you can manually rev the throttle with your hand under the hood)

          they're far from identical.

            OP - nice tune up starter kit, would be a good snag to have a separate tb to port/polish for someone in need. glws!

              Hey there,

              REAL interested in the throttle body - any idea if you can switch from a drive by cable throttle body to one that is drive by wire? If so, any improvements in doing it? and what all is involved?

              I have a 1997 Firebird 3.8 with a drive by cable.

                i would probably leave yours alone, probably an expensive process since its all electronical, if anything i would rather convert mine to cable haha.

                not to mention the throttle position sensor could go out and you would have to replace it. (i've had to replace 2!)

                    I couldn't find the sensor it self isolated, but in yeah i guess you could try to cut the rivets and swap the sensors. you would have to read and see if anyone has actually done it, but i know i have seen at least one sensor by it self float through this forum in the sale section..

                    To replace mine i just found a new throttle body over time.

                      You would need a new PCM, new pedal assembly, new wire harness, etc..
                      Not worth the effort at all.
