Nobody wanted to pay for my short block to be shipped so its gonna be scrapped but I am pulling the heads off in case anyone wants to buy them. They are off of a 97 firebird with a little over 90K miles on it. They are usable as is but I would not recommend it since they are used and dirty. Recommendation would be to have them disassembled, get a valve job, and to replace the springs/retainers/locks/seals and have the valves cleaned up. I have not had them magnafluxed so I cant say for sure that they are undamaged, but my car ran fine with them until a piece of gasket came off and the coolant leaked out. Thats why I put my built motor in (was a good excuse for me). Since Im not really sure what to price them at but I think $50 + shipping is very reasonable. Just for your information, this is what it would cost (minus the valve job / cleaning / reassembly) to freshen up the heads with new parts:
GM Factory L36 Valvesprings - 12537174 - $71 shipped (gmpartsdirect.com)
Comp Cams Steel Retainers - VRS-774 - $40+ship (intense-racing.com or anywhere else)
Comp Cams Valve Locks - VLS-623 - $25+ship (intense-racing.com or anywhere else)
Your machine shop will tell you if the heads need new seals or valve seats and can replace them accordingly, I just wanted to reference the major things that probably should be replaced. Given that new heads from GM for the L36 are over $700 a pair shipped from GMpartsdirect.com (cheapest), you could save some money getting these heads cleaned and rebuilt. I would have reused them if my new engine didnt have new heads, but it did.
