I have a complete "3400" topend from a '99 Pontiac Montana for sale. I was gonna do the swap to my '95 3.4 but decided to go with a V8 instead. Included are the heads, upper/ lower intake manifolds, roller rockers, pushrods, fuel rails, lines, injectors, wiring harness, throttle body, and valve covers. I also have the intake bolts but believe a few head bolts are missing. I'm looking to get $325 shipped. Shoot me an offer if anyone's interested.

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
Hey Heartbeat, I think 50+ horse is definitely possible including the swap, headers, exhaust, and a cai. I first read about the swap on z28.com last Sept/ Oct. Since my 3.4 took a dump a year ago I thought this would be a nice alternative. I decided againt the "3400" because I found a good deal on an LT1/ T56 setup recently. Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera for posting pics but I can assure you that everything mentioned in my first post is still available and in working condition.

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
are the heads and the upper and lower intakes aluminum? i dunno if thats a stupid question or not but if you read teh same write-up i did then you know what i mean. i read one on cz28 also so i'm assuming its the same thread. i believe he raplced most of the parts with aluminum replacements (i.e. the head and such). i'm very interested because i just about to look this stuff up myself soon. i call dibs on it! just wanna get more info on it first. i got a project due tomorrow so after tomorrow afternoon i'll be able to sit down and figure this out. but i am definitely interested!1994 Camaro 3.4 L V6
2.5\" Flowmaster 80 Series American Thunder Exhaust
SLP Cold Air Intake
Sony Head Unit
Pioneer Midranges
2 10\" Sony XPlod 1100 W Subs
Power Acoustiks 980 W Amp
http://www.cardomain.com/id/heartbeat_of_94

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
would you been willing to sell everything BUT the manifolds since they are cast iron? i think i know where i can get a set of aluminum ones either on this board or at a shop here in town. how much would you want then without the manifolds? if you aren't willing to part those two pieces out thats fine i'm still interested i was just wondering because everything i've said says aluminum is better for the manifolds and stuff. am i right or is it just a minimal difference?1994 Camaro 3.4 L V6
2.5\" Flowmaster 80 Series American Thunder Exhaust
SLP Cold Air Intake
Sony Head Unit
Pioneer Midranges
2 10\" Sony XPlod 1100 W Subs
Power Acoustiks 980 W Amp
http://www.cardomain.com/id/heartbeat_of_94

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
I don't believe that you'll be able to find "3400" upper/ lower manifolds in aluminum. It's not like there's an aftermarket making 3400 parts. If you read the thread I did at z28.com you'll read that Russell is talking about the 3400 aluminum heads compared to the 3.4 cast iron heads. In order to complete this swap you will have to order a set of pistons from any fwd 3400 vehicle so that they will run properly with the aluminum heads. If you retain your 3.4 pistons with the aluminum heads it will bump up compression to 14.xxx which is way too much. Let me know if you're still interested.

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
ok...just to make sure: what other parts will be necessary to complete this change? (besides the stuff you have)? i want this stuff but i wanna make sure i KNOW what else i need to get. where are you located? 275 shipped is what it said earlier in the post. you mean that the 275 includes the shipping right? just let me know!1994 Camaro 3.4 L V6
2.5\" Flowmaster 80 Series American Thunder Exhaust
SLP Cold Air Intake
Sony Head Unit
Pioneer Midranges
2 10\" Sony XPlod 1100 W Subs
Power Acoustiks 980 W Amp
http://www.cardomain.com/id/heartbeat_of_94

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
That's correct, $275 includes the shipping fee. You definitely have to order a set of pistons from a fwd "3400" vehicle (car/ minivan). Contact Jason Cromer from SamTaylorBuick located in Florida. Run a google search for his name and/ or that dealer. I've ordered GM parts from him several times. He's able to get GM parts for the best price and will not charge you an outrageous shipping fee. I can't think of anything else other than the pistons. You might want to send out your pcm to FASTCHIP after the swap although it might not be necessary. They are the only company that's able to tune the 3.4l. Also, it's not necessary to replace the cam; the 3.4 rwd will do just fine. Keep in mind that you can use your 3.4 wiring harness although it will take a little time and patience to re-route the harness and injector clips. Get back to me if you have any other questions.
P.S. I'm in New Jersey

Re: COMPLETE "3400" topend F/S
well i'm planning on having everything professionally installed cause i want NO screw ups. but anyways, i'll have to get the money together but if you'll hold this stuff for like a week or two i'll definitely have the money by then. i've got almost all of it but i don't wanna drain my account otherwise i might get charged for it ya know?
EDIT: its not like i can't pay for it now just wondering if you need to get rid of it immediately? i been looking for these parts for a while now and i really don't wanna let this go.Last edited by Heartbeat_of_94; 04-08-2006, 01:30 PM.1994 Camaro 3.4 L V6
2.5\" Flowmaster 80 Series American Thunder Exhaust
SLP Cold Air Intake
Sony Head Unit
Pioneer Midranges
2 10\" Sony XPlod 1100 W Subs
Power Acoustiks 980 W Amp
http://www.cardomain.com/id/heartbeat_of_94
