  • Turbo Kit, must sell, steal it from me :)

I found an engine with 30,000 miles on it at a junkyard, the guy wants $700 for it. I have a Turbo setup, minus the turbo, for sale, i was asking $1,500, but i need the cash for the engine ASAP, so if someone can paypal me the money or use a credit card, i'll sell it for $750 shipped. here's the lowdown on the kit:

~apexi boost timer with air/fuel guages
    ~greddy profec B boost controller
    ~blow off valve
    ~greddy external wastegate
    ~forward sweeping headers, custom
    ~HUGE intercooler
    ~lots of stainless pipe
~set of ngk plugs, brand new, still in box
    ~k&n filter

Okay, here's pretty much everything I know about this kit. I lived in Hawaii, and I met this guy in the Camaro car club I joined that was selling his 1993 3.4 Camaro turbo because he T-boned someone and totalled the car out. I bought the car from him, stripped everything off of it, used what I could on my 1998 3.8 Camaro, and sold the rest on eBay. This was 3 years ago. The only parts I had to buy were the forward sweeping headers that you see in the auction, $1,400.00 at the local exhaust shop. Everything went well with the install, I was in the Marine Corps so I had the 'hobby shop' which is just a huge garage with every tool you could ever need at my fingertips. I had to modify my 1998 quite a bit, but like I said, I had the 93 to model it after, so it was a little easier than it would have been. I had to remove the a/c, completely, condenser and all, cut circular holes into the frame to run the piping, relocate my power steering pump and fuse boxes, and mount the intercooler... I did upgrade my coil packs, and you have to run a colder spark plug, which I'm including a brand new set of 6. I also ran 8mm taylor spiro pro plug wires. I'm sure that with a MSD ignition, maybe bigger injectors, you could get better results, but it's not necessary. Now, the reason I'm selling everything is because my little brother used my Camaro while I was traveling the country visiting old Marine friends of mine, and the oil return line from the turbo melted and started leaking really bad. It ended up burning up the turbo, and a few weeks after I got home, the engine gave out. It had been overheating since the oil shortage. I never got dyno'd, but I did run a 13.8 @ 103 mph consistently. This was in Hawaii, perfect weather, low altitude, no humidity. I did a lot of research, and I was told that you gain approx. 15 HP per pound of boost. The 3.8 engine can only handle a max of 12 lb/boost. I ran 6 lb on the street, and 10 lb at the track. I never went above 10 lb/boost. The cool thing is that with the boost controller, you can adjust the boost from the driver's seat, so if some guy in WRX pulls next to you on the interstate, you can just raise the boost right then and blow him away. That's what I loved about it. Also, the T3/T4 hybrid turbo that I used let the turbo spool up faster, so the lag wasn't that bad. Most of my research came from mazda miata turbo web sites and message boards. I still have a lot of links and word documents and diagrams and everything if you need them. However, I cannot find any pictures of the install or the turbo setup completely after I was finished. I lost a lot of my things during my deployment and then release from active duty. I was also married, and I'm sure my ex-wife has lots of pictures of my car that she's probly thrown away by now.

I have pictures of everything included. If anyone is interested, please email me ASAP or call me on my cell phone, 225 253 9482. Thanks,
