  • FS: SLP 1.8 Rocker Arm Kit (3.8 V6)

For Sale: SLP 1.8 Rocker Arm Kit.

Going from 1.6 to 1.8 will increase your lift from 400/.408 to .450/.459 on a stock cam. Average dyno results have been 10-12 rwhp from this mod. Each set of 12 rockers also cuts total reciprocating mass by over 400 grams. That's like removing the weight of an entire piston No valve-cover modifications or spacers are required for installation. The kit comes complete with rocker arms, pedastals, pushrods, bolts, and detailed instructions.

I am selling these rockers because, after bolting them to my car I found out that due to the reground cam I have from Crower, the base circle was changed. Changing the base circle altered my valvetrain geometry and these SLP rockers will not work with the reground cam. They will work fine with a stock cam or Comp cam with the same base circle as stock.

The rockers are in perfect condition, they were only on the car long enough to figure out the pushrod length and geometry would not work.

These rockers retail for $549 and I am asking $400, plus $10 to ship UPS with insurance.

I can't do $300, I have too much invested in these rockers to sell them for that cheap. $375 is as low as I will go for a set of rockers with 0 miles on them.

Fortunately you didn't order them. GT cam + 1.8 rockers = .570" lift.

I am seriously considering these, but...
It is said that you need to grind the inside of the stock valve covers to make these fit over a stock cam. Is this true, and how much do I need to grind?

No, you'll be fine. From SLP:

Best of all, no valve cover modifications or spacers are required for installation.

yeah you will be fine, no need to grind. I think 1.9 can even be used without grinding.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. I'm looking to close a deal though on a 1.9 set, but money is a bit tight right now...considering my transplant ;)
