Wow! The miles shouldn't matter because he has a new seal on there and it sounds like this things has been properly maintained. Good luck to your brother with the sale. I hope whoever gets it doesn't trash it.

The apex seals do. Think of them as piston rings that melt at much lower temp. Run lean for a split second, melt them.
New seal is like a new motor for those cars. I would love to have it.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

Those rotary engines are tough, I used to watch a guy who used them in his rock buggies (Russ Hogan) and he gave those things hell everywhere. The things sounded like a pissed off bumble bee.
