TRADE 180 for 160 thermostat

Recently i returned the 160 thermostat i bought for my 2000 3.8 camaro, for a 180. i then realized i already had a 180 thermostat, and i dont want to sent it back id rather trade if someone had a 160 for my year that was new and un-used.

For the 2000 i guess a check engine light is suposed to come on because its not warming up properly i guess so i returned it, well yesterday i found a bypass so it will work fine. now i want it back, but im sure there not going to resend it back to me. if not ill just buy a new one.

I believe the problem is 01-02, not 00.


I have a 160* stat and I have had no problems.

yeah it was kinda tricky, seemed to be 50/50 if it would work when I researched it.

But since I had hptuners, and I read from others that I could delete out the codes and my guage woudl work fine, so I gave it a shot.


do a search, I think I bought mine off 97Rs4life? something like that, I always mix up all the f-body year/model guys so that may not be his name. Search gen tech.

Best deal I saw around and part was new 160* stat from hypertech.


with my fans reprogramed my car ran between 160-185ish with hard runs and like 5 minutes straight of jsut idling. Used to run like 197-215ish stock.
