  • Loaded 1996 Y87 For Sale

I'm in no hurry to sell this, but puting it out there. Looking to get $8500 for it. Specifics:

    1996 Chevrolet Camaro
    Purple Exterior/Charcoal Leather Interior
Fully Loaded: Leather, T-Top, Power windows/locks/driver seat,Bose CD player, Cruise Control, Y87 Performance Package, keyless entry, remote start
    90,000 miles on a very well maintained 3.8L V6
    Automatic Transmission
Only female owned, never driven hard
Oil changed every 5,000 with Mobil 1 synthetic
Within the last year: Transmission service, Coolant flush, Spark plug and wire replaced, Brake pads and fluid flush

The car has been lowered ~1" with Eibach Pro springs and KYB-AGX 8-way adjustable shocks within the last six months. This gives the car a much better stance, removes wheelwell gap, and it handles amazingly. It actually rides softer than stock with the shocks on setting 1. This is all run on 18" Giovanni Geneva chrome rims wrapped in 255/45R18 tires with a great deal of tread left. There is also a Z28 take-off exhaust waiting to be welded together and put on.

The car is in amazing condition. It looks beautiful and recieves many comments. Gas mileage is great, getting ~25mpg around town and ~30mpg on the highway averaging 70mph. The interior is in phenominal shape compared to most Camaros. The driverside bolster has minimal wear that, with some more polish and conditioning, is easily overlooked. Most Camaros have the bolster completely torn and worn away. The powerseat motor has recently been replaced. The headlight surrounds have been painted with DuPont Mirage paint. There are also many Brent Franker carbon fiber decals on the vehicle, done tastefully. Windows and hatch are tinted at 35%. This was done professionally within the last few months. The shop is a Diamond Dealer, which is a very high distinction. It has an unconditional lifetime gaurantee. The owners manual and Haynes manual is also included.

I have many pictures that can be sent to those with serious inquires. I will only ship if the buyer sets everything up to do so. Feel free to post or email me with any questions. The car is located in Southern Maryland, zipcode 20634.

Good luck selling that. I have a 1999 Pewter Metallic Firebird A4 with 90k miles on it and not a single caller with a price of $7500.00

[*]This forum is to buy parts/product. NOT to tell sellers you can get it cheaper somewhere else. You can place a lower offer to the seller, but statements of "being over price" will not be tolerated

I didn't read the post, but I'm guessing it pertained to that!

Good Luck selling Josh looks like a clean well taken care of car!

I told him, in a very nice way, that the price seemed high. I was not short with him, i explained why, and explained what he MAY get for it and how he can go about doing that.

MoGobs just deleted it. Every once in a while he seems to just want to use his moderator power to edit posts.

I was tryin to help him out.

I understand Ian. I actually never got to read the post, but you historically have been very respectful with me. I will not disagree that the price is somewhat high compared to a typical 1996 V6 Camaro. 1) I put a high price on it, as I am not pushing real hard to sell it and as such would have to get a good price on it to part with it. If we end up getting a replacement for it, then the price will probably move down. 2) This really is not a typcial condition Camaro. It has benn maintained amazingly well. Everything works, and the interior looks very close to new with the exception of a slight wear mark on the driver seat bolster which I am in the process of working out of the leather. 3) The rims, tires, and suspension work that has recently been done is not cheap either. I know that modifications really don't help the selling price, but they are not cheap and I would like the buyer to take that into consideration.

Again, I appreciate feedback, and if you have any suggestions for a better sale, I am more than willing to listen.

If he wants the input, then I will keep the current posts. But for the most part, I would be PISSED if I was selling something, and someone came and posted in my topic and told me that they could find the same thing cheaper somewhere else. You are basically advertising for every other seller out there, and killing my sale. IT isn't a power trip, Ian, think of it from my point of view. Sometimes suggestions could be detrimental, if seen by the wrong person.

I appreciate your point of view, but I would like to give you some advice from an individual that is a moderator for a classified section, as well as many other, elsewhere: Let the seller make the determination of what works best in his/her post. I never got the opportunity to decide for myself if there was anything useful in the other members posts. That would have been nice.

Here's the problem and flaw with that thinking, when it comes to selling and buying items over the internet. MOST of the time, people don't want others to say that they can find it anywhere else. They send emails to the moderators mailbox, telling them to delete the persons post who has a problem with the price of that item. Now if everyone did that everytime someone posted about finding something cheaper somewhere else, then that moderator of that forum would have a FULL MAILBOX everyday. I personally don't need that, and neither do the admins. SO, with that in mind, there has been a rule made that if someone makes a post about finding the same product cheaper somewhere else, then that post is deleted. I don't ask the seller what they want, because 99.999% of the time, they agree. But you, on the other hand, are a UNIQUE exception. Out of the 3+ years I have been a member of this site, and out of the 4 months I have been moderator here, you are the ONLY person that doesn't mind these posts, which is cool, but I am not going to email you and ASK you if you want these posts or not, no one would have time for that. And if I did, then I would have to email EVERYONE who wanted their posts changed. I can do it one way or the other, not both. I apologize for deleting Ian's thread, but through the normal course of moderating this forum, his kind of posts will not and cannot be tolerated BY ANY MEANS!!! No explaiations, no BS. Just keep those kinds of posts to yourself.

And Ian, if you are that concerned about the price of this car, maybe next time instead of publicly telling him that his car is overpriced, EMAIL HIM!!! Keeping it between the two of you without involving his sale may actually help. BTW Ian, if you are going to run me into the ground for simply doing my job according to the rules stated within this forum, leave now. I don't want to hear your input. Its unwarranted, and unwanted.
