Anybody into DCU’s and Gortex? I got a bit I no longer need!

I am moving here in about 2 weeks and I have been going though a bunch of things that I no longer require, so I thought that if there was anybody that was interested in any of it, let me know! All reasonable offers not refused, and buyer to pay shipping.

Gortex: I have 2 sets, : ~55.oo for the set.
MED/LONG Jacket w/ EX LARGE/REG pants
LARGE/REG Jacket w/ LARGE/LONG Pants

I will leave the AF strips and rank, but I will be pulling my name strip.

I'm glad to see your trying to make money on what you were issued for free.

Ok slick, you have no idea if they were "issued" or bought at the local AAFES store. Please ask before you start to accuse.

You do realize if your no longer active, or in your case selling to someone not in the Air Force, you have to take off the Air Force patch along with your senior airmen stripes.

I guess you've never been to a siagon sams. Its only illegal to wear stripes and insignia if you have no earned them ie me wearing 4 stars trying to pass as a General.
And most of the time you're only issued 2 pairs of camo, after that you supply your own. so whos to say he didnt buy them.
once you join you're always avail for recall, unless extenuating circumstances.

Sorry been busy and not on for a while, but here is some replies.

A. MrCoffee you need to get a dictionary, you spell ignorant with an "A".

B. Clearly he didn't buy them at siagon sams because he stated "you have no idea if they were "issued" or bought at the local AAFES store" He made no mention of siagom sams or uncle bob's discount military surplus. He also never denied they were issued.And even if he did purchase them he is given a clothing allowence for these items once a year of what 200 bucks or so, I forget the exact number but could look it up if you really want to know it.

C. Tealv6 the amount of post I have no bearing on miltary statements in this section and when it comes to this subject and the fleecing of america gets under my skin. I spent five years of active duty so I'm not talking about something I know nothing about.

D. Mcaanda, as far as the AFI, I will do better than that and give you a link to the United states code, which supersedes any AFI.

You will want to look at 771, 771A, and 772. Most importantly 771. For those of you that dont want to look up the site.
Section 771 states:

Except as otherwise provided by law, no person except a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps, as the case may be, may wear -

(1) the uniform, or a distinctive part of the uniform, of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps; or

(2) a uniform any part of which is similar to a distinctive part of the uniform of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps

And distinctive would include stripes and Air Force patch, would it not?

and you need to check your attitude. I personally do not care how many years of active duty you've put it, be it 1 or 20. You also need to read the rules of this board and this section of the board. I will do better than that and give you a link

you have to remove the rank and USAF off them, and you can not where the shirt (why the hell would you want to? they suck balls)

i seel people wearing the pants and gortex stuff all the time........ the pants hold up very well......


oh yeah the gortex rocks..... you you have the liner for it? they didn't issue me one and i'm not paying $200 for the liner lol :naughty: .

Do you want the liner that is a green vest? I may have one if this is what you are wanting. I have a buddy that cross trained to linguist and is statined at Fort Walton so I could possibly send the item to him to get with you. I also am planning on coming down in August to chill with him and another guy thats staioned at Eglin so mayby I could just hand it to you then....

I'd hate for you to have to go call the inpector gen on yourself. and I do not care about how long you have served. Thats between you and I. I never said everyone or anyone I said you. dont try to throw retirement crap in my face, I've been to 3 and 2 funnerals and I'm not in the military. My dad put in 22 years for the corps.

I see your point, I have all along. I also was aware of the 'rules'. To get on base you have to show ID. At least all the bases/forts around here have 100% ID checks in progress.
I used to wear my dads old cammies to play in the woods as a kid. They had his velcro name patch and USMC stamp. he should be brought up on charges? and to boraden it, do you really think Bin Laden surfs this board looking for used military gear? To me, he's just trying to get rid of old clothes that he doesnt need anymore. and I see nothing wrong with that. too much bs over some apparel.
