  • 12 second 98 Firebird FOR SALE

I am now driving my dads race car and I don't have the time or the money to keep up with two cars. Its a Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird, 3.8L V6. I have TONS of time and money invested and it will be really sad to see it go. It gets TONS of attention and will outrun MANY V8's even without the nitrous. It has run a best of 12.65@106mph on a 5000' DA day, 150 shot of nitrous, and a 1.62 60' pulling the left front tire off of the ground! The body itself has 73000 miles on it. The engine has been fully built up by Abbott Racing Engines in Crane, Texas. The engine, transmission, and converter has about 2000 miles on them since rebuilt. The Moser 12 bolt rear end has about 6000 miles since new. Go to www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98 for more pictures and more info on the car. Here are some details:

    ENGINE
    -3.820" bore 3.400" stroke
-Custom CP pistons with lateral gas ports
-9310 series heavy duty CP piston pins
    -Steel top ring for nitrous
    -10.3:1 compression ratio
-Stock rods with ARP rod bolts
    -Polished stock crank
    -Balance rotating assembly
-Stage 3 heads by Abbott Racing Heads
    -Ported intake
    -24lb injectors
    -ARP Head studs
    -Cometic .051 MLS head gaskets
-Comp cam spec'd out by Abbott Racing
-T&D 1.7 ratio Shaft Mount rocker arms
    -Rollmaster double roller timing chain
    -Removed balance shaft
-Custom Long tube headers, stepped 1.5"-1.625" I have $1000 in them alone. They're one of a kind.
-Nitrous Express single nozzle wet kit with upgraded hose and jets to run up to a 200hp shot
-The exhaust has a removeable Y-pipe for track use.
-Custom vacuum pump setup for track only
-2000 miles since re-built, 2 bottles of a 150shot ran through the engine. It made 362 rear wheel horsepower on 150shot. Message me for a video of the dyno run.

    TRANSMISSION
-Rebuilt 4L60E with all TCI parts. Its got Red alto clutches, TCI shift kit, etc.
-TCI Competition 4000 stall 10" w/lockup torque converter.
    -2000 miles since rebuilt
    -TCI Transmission cooler
    -TCI RTF racing tranny fluid

    REAR END-
    -Moser 12 bolt rear end
    -33 spline axles
    -1/2x3"long wheel studs
    -4.10 Richmond gears
    -Detroit True-trac limited slip
    -narrowed 2" per side

    SUSPENSION
-BMR Trak-pack chassis mount torque arm, less than 2000 miles since installed.
    -Edelbrock tubular subframe connectors
    -Edelbrock adjustable panhard rod
-Boxed stock lower control arms with poly bushings
-SJM Line lock and ABS delete kit.

    INTERIOR
    -Alpine 1.5 DIN CD player
-Stock speakers, passenger front is blown
    -JL Audio 10" W-0 subwoofer
    -JL Audio 250/1 amplifier

    EXTERIOR
    -Moore Performance WS6 Fiberglass hood
-Weld Draglites. 15x3.5" fronts with 165r radial tires. I have two sets of rear wheels. Both are 15x8" Weld Draglites. One has 275/60/15 BF Goodrich traction TA street tires. The second set has 26x10.5" ET streets. The ET streets have 7 passes on them, 4 motor passes and three nitrous passes. The fronts have about 5000 miles on them and the rear street tires have about 2500 miles.

    OTHERS
    -Manual locks and windows
    -Grey cloth interior
    -tinted windows
-The cable that adjusts the drivers side rear view mirror is broken
-The drivers side door lock is broke, the key won't un-lock it or lock it.
-The clear coat is beginning to flake from a rock chip on the front end, its about half dollar size. A few other rock chips from typical daily driving.
-I have used Zaino Brothers professional car polish on the car for about the last three years.
    -NON-smoker car
-It still has a hesitation between the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and the part throttle tune could be tweeked on.

This car is still VERY streetable and is even reliable enough to have as a daily driver. The camshaft was designed to make power but still be conservative enough to drive daily. With a few more small changes in the converter and the transmission tune, the car is very capable of breaking the current 11.86 record.

I'm asking $14,000 but the price is very negotiable. It would cost you more than that for the modifications alone! Its basically a brand new car. Message me if you have any other questions and thanks for looking!
