** UPDATED LOW PRICE! WILL NOT SELL CHEAPER THAN THIS, BUT NEED TO SELL IT FOR A DOWN PAYMENT ON A NEW CAR BEFORE I LEAVE FOR GRAD SCHOOL **
PRICE: $4000
Kelly Blue Book for Good Condition: $5000
I'm selling my 1997 Pontiac Firebird so that I can buy an newer car before I go to graduate school. I'm listing basic details here and will have pictures and any other details available upon request.
Engine: 3.9L Series II V6, 32,000 miles and no problems
Tranny: 4L60E Auto, Stock, 112,000 miles and no problems
Rearend: 3.08 Open, Stock, 112,000 miles and no problems
Suspension: Stock except for new Factory shocks/struts, no problems
Options: Power Door Locks, power windows, t-tops, 5 spoke aluminum 16"x8" wheels, front air bags, cloth seats, cruise control.
Engine Details: First engine died due to a blown head gasket at 92,000 miles. Second engine was fully cleaned, prepped and installed. ARP 2000 connecting rod bolts were used, ARP Head Studs used to prevent blown gaskets again. Fresh internals, block, and heads were installed, all with zero miles. The tranny is unabused and stock. I am not fond of burnouts as they are very rough on the drivetrain and I do not drag the car on this engine, on the old engine the car went to the track 3-4 times in its life. Car has always been well maintained. Fuel filter, fuel injectors, o2 sensors, oil, tranny oil, and rearend seals have all been serviced regularly.
Modifications: Custom Mandrel Bent Cold Air; Pacesetter Headers and Y-Pipe; 3" Offroad SLP Dual/Dual Catback; Texas Speed Custom Tune; A/C Deleted with an A/C Delete Pulley; factory throttle body and MAF sensor; GM Firehawk Front Bumper professionally painted and matched
Sound: I have installed a Pioneer CD Receiver along with 4 Infinity Kappa 6.5" 3-way speakers in the sail panels and the rear hatch panels. They have Stinger wires connected to them to provide the required power and the system is powered by a 75 watts x 4 @ 4ohms Profile Amplifier. I have never had a problem with the amp or the speakers. The power and ground wires are 4 gauge heavy duty speaker wires hidden under the carpeting and run through the firewall. The system sounds very good and is never abused.
Areas of Attention: Rear bumper has some fading but no paint cracked off, y-pipe has some oil stains on it due to a leaky oil drain plug gasket that was replaced, small dents in a few places on the car, large front dash plate has a crack in it due to heat stress, headliner needs a little repair near the T-Tops. The rest of the paint is very fresh and waxed 80% of the time with Meguiar's Wax.
I'm asking $4000 for the car in its current condition. Kelly Blue book for the car is $5000 for good condition, which I think understates the car's condition, but it does have some flaws as listed above. There are no problems with the car leading me to sell it, I am merely looking for a new, gas efficient automobile before I move out of state. Feel free to email me at cboney@uga.edu or call me at 912-659-0916, if I do not pick up please leave me a message. I can get pictures for anyone who is interested!
