  • Z28 rear axle, works great (for cheap!)

I'm selling a rear axle that was pulled from a Z28, it is complete minus brake hardware. Has a working posi differential, and I believe 3.xx gears (was told 3.23, could be 3.08/2.73).

I was going to put this axle on my '97 RS, but I sold the car...It was working perfectly when it was removed. good upgrade for the one wheel peelers out there.

Since I don't have my '97 anymore, I have no need for this and want to get it out of my garage...i'm Selling for $250 shipped!!!! thats right, shipping included, I paid $300+150shipping for it.

e-mail if you're interested...i've got ebay references and have been around the board for awhile.

yeah- i'm not really sure how to tell what the exact gear ratio is...all I can go off of is what I was told. either way this thing ought to be worth more than what i'm asking.

What year z28 was it pulled off of, and the only way u can tell about the gears is to take off that plate and read the numbers on the pinion gear

I'm not 100%, but think it came from a '95/'96...I do remember for sure it was an A4.

The brake backing plates are what the calipers bolt to?, if so, then yes it has those.

            hope it help

I'm interested in the axle, but I have a few questions first. Does it include calipers and rotors, does it have the e-brake cable, and what series is the carier 2 or 3? Most importantly, would you be willing to ship to Florida? I can't wait to get started on this swap.

Just FYI, if anyone is interested in this rear, but not the gears. I have a set of 3.42's that I am willing to sell for $65 shipped.

Thought I'd throw that out there. :)

BTW, that is a f'ing steal for shipped rear!!!! I paid $450 shipped for mine.

It's easy to tell what ratio gears it has. Count how many turns of the pinion it takes to make one revolution of the axle. For example, if you spin the pinion flange 3¼ times for the axle to go once around, it's a 3.23 ratio.

sorry for the delayed reply, my ISP has been going nuts lately so I haven't been able to sign on the board.

i believe there is about 30k miles on the rear...it is still available.
