I am a newb and haven't been here long enough to understand the specs of my camaro. I think it's a plain jane v6. I'm still reading and learning, in the meantime, if you reply to this before I figure out what the heck i'm doing and edit this post, how would I know what gear ratio I have? All I know is that it's a '96 v6, as I said before, I have not grown out of the camaro ignorance stage....

i posted the codes @ the end of page 2, check eather on your door or in your glove box and let me know what gear ratio you find out

I have GU5 3.23 ratio. Thanks for the tip, I have all my codes and found the RPO decoder/list. A good way to start. I take it this means I have a series 3 and the posi won't work. Right?
