Update: SOLD!
I am selling my car and am going to throw my stock hood back on. This is an actual gm fiberglass hood with grills that are painted silver. No worries about fitment issues. The hood is mystic teal, which they never made a ws6 trans am in this color so it truly is a one of a kind.
$700 prefer pickup or if someone wants to pay shipping.
Yup, i just said mystic teal because thats what eveybody remembers, hell the dealer even looked up blue-green chameleon and couldn't find it only mystic teal. at anyrate it's the same color and it looks really good. Anybody want a one of a kind?
Yes the hood is still available. As far as shipping it would be the wooden crate seen here http://www.impalaparts.com/Store/pro...=HSC&CatId=277 otherwise i have to buy some wood and build one, plus whatever shipping charges would be. If you know of a good freight shipping company let me know. UPS wanted an arm and a leg, but i think they messed up when they quoted me before, i will have to try them again.
i just called the shipping company, i have to crate it up or else it costs an extra $300, but i could buy the crate from impala parts for $85. At anyrate i just have to drop it off at their local terminal here and you would need to pick it up from your local terminal, i used a random MASS zipcode of 02351 but the price should be similar. terminal to terminal is $285, if you wanted it dropped off at your residence it would be around $500. Let me know. Thanks
Josh
Does the hood come with all the hardware and grills? My bodyshop guy said that he thought that the latch was a differant length than the stock hood. Also, did you have any problems with ligning up the hood with the fenders and bumper? Did you have to modify the bumper at all to get it to fit? And my last question, are there any dents or damage on the hood at all?
I hit a coyote last week so my car is in the shop as I speak. The hood is getting replaced with a Ram Air hood, but the guy says that if he has to align or adjust much of anything then he is going to charge me extra. I am allready having to pay for the hood out of pocket just because it isn't the same as what I had, but insurance is atleast going to be helping on the repaint I think.
Thanks. Any info you have will be greatly appreciated.

The latch is the same between stock and WS6, no bumper modification is required (only with the Firehawk does the front fascia need cut).
Your body guy is stupid, especially thinking that bolting the stock hood on after removal won't require re-alignment. It will, especially if body work is done. That comment plus the latch issue makes me think you need to go somewhere else.
The main thing he's worried about the aftermarket hoods is how much sanding and preping he's going to have to do and the size. We know that there is going to be minor adjusting and stuff to make any hood other than "mine" fit, but I've personally seen how bad some aftermarket hoods can fit. My roomate has a 300zx, and we spent days trying to get it centered in the hole. We ended up having to modify his hinges because the holes were so far off. Even then he has almost a half inch gap on both sides. His also bends when it gets hot as well. So, I am very nervous about going aftermarket now.
As far as the latch, the bodyshop was just going off of the part numbers from the dealer. The local GM dealer quoted him different part numbers from the Ram Air hood comparted to just the stock hood.
Thanks for the help, the more information I get the better.

Hate to hear your selling such a nice looking 'Bird....nice color. I see youre in Tucson, word of warning....If you ever run into my ex-gf Amy Bernier-Benites, run for the hills, shes a nutcase. LOL
the latch is the exact same. i took my original latch off my old hood and put it on the ws6 hodd struts mounting points etc are the exact same. the hood is in perfect condition, i had it painted about a year ago when i put it on so it is flawless. alignment is the exact same as stock no modification, it is a direct swap. it's as easy as taking the stock hood off and placing the ws6 on.
