I have a 3.8L series II (L36) motor out of my 2002 firebird for sale with 50K miles. it is COMPLETE. no problems run with mobile 1, never modded. asking 900 obo+ shipping / negotiable
EDIT: Price 5/4/07
I have a HyperTech Power Programmer III (unlocked ofcourse)
was bought for 2002 3.8 firebird, not sure? but have been told it will work on other 3.8 f bodies? asking 225+ shipping
this comes with the computer and the complete wiring harness, so to answer your question, it will work in any 98-02 F body without any real modifications. it does not have a transmission though. The motor is in great shape though and comes with alternator, AC compressor, pulleys, pcm, i even have the crossmember with the motormounts... so if you would like to try putting it another vehicle you could weld the crossmember in as well.
i have been told it will work on other F body 3.8L, however if you have a 97 you should have a 3.4L unless you are an exception in that maybe you swapped or something?
hey is the motor still aviable, if so how much to ship to 60108.
Too many mods to list! To see what I have done, check out my car domain website -->
http://www.cardomain.com/id/2k2firebird21

you're thinking of 95. 95 was the switching year in which they changed form the 3.4 to the 3.8, from then on, they were all 3.8 motors. As for if the programmer will work, I'm not too sure. I believe 97RS4Life has one for his 97 Camaro, but I'm not too sure if it's this model or not. HyperTech claims it's for 00-02 years only, however, the only change in the engine then was drive-by-wire instead of cable, so, IMO, it should work the same. But, I'd check with 97RS4Life and see which one it is he has. I know a few others on here have them too, but only his name comes to mind.

There isn't a 97 fbody with a 3.4l engine. The ONLY year that had two V6 engines were 1995, 3.4l to start the year, then a mid year switch to the 3.8l with OBDII PCM availiable as a Cali car. Since mid 1995-beginning of 1996, ALL V6 fbodies were equipped with a 3800 Series II engine.
HPPII will not work on a 1997 car, because of a different programming on the PCM. It will only work on the cars specified. Just because the PCM's are the same physically and electrically doesnt mean the software is compatible between all the years.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
