What are the disadvantages of a pin on hood compared to a bolt on?

bolt on = like stock, uses stock latch to secure
pin on should have hood pins to secure it down in addition to stock hood latch, since its a weaker (but lighter)
there are only a few hoods that can even use stock hood latches. The hoods are not "weaker" in design, but are lighter and therefore need more attention to when you take them off. They can literally "blow away" when you take them off, so they need to either be stored when working on your car or at lesat strapped down. Check outt his thread. I know this guy is daily driving his car with a pin-on hood with no problems, along witht he gentleman down under a few posts that had hit 2600lbs in his. That's the main reason I wanted the hood is for the weight reduction. Like I said before, I must have the money paypalled today seeing as the funeral all needs to be paid for by 10:00 am tomorrow morning and we are short by about $1100
