It makes your shifts harder. Mainly the 1-2 shift.

I have mine on the 3rd (race setting or whatever) setting and I am glad I did it. The guy who installed it suggested the 3rd level because he said.. well you're only going to do it once, so why not do it the first time instead of regretting it and wondering what it would be like one more level. And I am happy. I've had it for nearly a year.

Mine shifts normal from like 1000-3000 RPMS. WOT it chirps and spins for a milisecond going into 2nd (4.10s + hard shifts = fun).

My shift times went from like .5-6 seconds to .2 consistently.. which is pretty fast for consistent times.

Shift kits and HPtuners is fun. Mine is on 2 spacers I think , it won't spin the tires since my suspension mods but it will chirp 2nd and 3rd this is with 3.73's and shift settings at .200 on hptuners.

My 98 bird has the p1870 code and has been there for about the last 10-15k miles. Will this shift kit and vette servo fix my problem for now? I read that some kits or something has the part that is worn out from the p1870 code; just wondering if this has what I need.

no, you need the valvebody replaced. $300 at a local tranny shop will take care of it.
