  • WTB Fuel Pump for 2001 Camaro

    Hello all.

My car stalled the other day whilst existing the freeway and it looks like my fuel pump bit the dust. I'm not completely sure and I'm hoping that it turns out that a sensor went out or something because the check engine light was on and is still on but I'm doubtful that it will work out that way. So, if you have a pump for sale, let me know and we'll see about working a deal out. Thanks to everyone!

I just replaced my pump. Got it from racetronix for $125 and that included shipping and a t-shirt. I think the same pump at autozone here was $375 so I felt like I got a good deal.

Yeah, autozone wants 375 for them. What a ripoff. So anyway, I checked the racetronix site and the fuel pump they have is $109 and is for the LS1 (unless I'm missing something). It looks the same as the pump that autozone has for a v6 but before I shell out the cash for it, obviously I want to make sure it's the right one. Is that the one that you got? Or are they interchangable?

Yes, it works. I asked their sales department in email before purchasing. Same pump that Autozone sells. Shipping to the Nashville area from Toronto was only 14 bucks. Its all plug and play. I used the "hatch door" method that can be found in these forums to access the old one. A little trouble spinning the old one out but a good dead blow hammer and it was free. So far, works just fine and racetronix his a good reputation on the forums.

Awesome. I wonder why Autozone is selling it for almost 4 times the price. But whatever. I'm gonna make an access panel for this as well. To hell with dropping the tank. I have a friend that is going to let me use his Dremel with some cutting wheels so hopefully it will go smoothly. I just need to find the spot to cut the hole.

I went through 3 cutting wheels to do it. Just take your time and you will be happy with the results.

Yeah I'm expecting a few cutting wheels to be used up. I should have the pump assembly tomorrow and I'm hoping it will be a smooth install.

It shouldn't take that many. I did it with one used one. Just make sure that you don't go deep with the wheel, that tank is seriously within an inch and a half of that steel you'll be cutting.
