HP tuners for a 2000 camaro

If anyone has an Hp tuners for a 2000 camaro, please let me know. My car really needs it. I have a horrible misfire because my car is running way to lean. And i would rather not pay the full price for a brand new one. Even if its only like a hundred bucks off, that would really be nice. I dont really care where you are located, i will pay for shipping. Thanks.

Why is it running lean? I'd figure that out, cause HPT may not be able to help a mechanical issue.

Its running lean because ive got full bolt ons, including a whisper lid, K&N air filter, SLP CAI, and a ram air hood, and an intense stage 1 cam. So im getting all that air on a stock tune with stock injectors. Im not getting near enough fuel with the amount of air im getting. So im pretty sure an HPT is gonna solve my problem.

So you have detonation, not a misfire. Hence the confusion.

With those bolt-ons you probaly some have KR, I wouldn't of thought peoples first mods when camming would be wideband and Hptuners. Each setup is diffeerent so mail in tuners are a waste. If you can't find a used one , I wouldn't drive the car too much and be ready to order HPtuners. Got to pay to play. You could try a adj. fuel pressure reg. and bump the fuel pessure up at WOT to see if can help out alittle I think you can get them for like $50 or so. Also your going to need bigger injectors since when you add fuel on the stockers you'll be probably at over 80% duty cycle, so some 28lB or 33LB gtp's might be best depending on what your goals are.

Actually i have hardly no KR. I had my cousin hook up his HPT scanner up on my car and i very little KR. And i have been driving my car as little as possible because i know this is a serious problem. And i plan on buying one no later than next week sometime, and i will buy a brand new one, i just figured id try to get a used one for a little cheaper and try and save a little money to put towards a set of injectors.

Also, could either one of you tell me what is the difference with the standard version and the professional version of HPT?

I have Pro and it has where you can hook up your wideband to it and make a PID so it logs your A/F readings with all the other scaned functions and also there is a feature to record up to 30 minutes I think it is with just the cord plugged in, and then take it out and plug it in your computer to view the readings. I think thats it, might check out Hptuners website.

Any KR is a serious problem. With your mods, I doubt it's false knock either.

Thank you for informing of that, i was not a member of that forum so i wouldnt have even known about that.

And i had checked out there website but it didnt really explain the difference. I had heard before that the only real difference was it can hook up with a wideband but i just wanted to see if there was anything else really different. Thanks.

Pro allows add on functions, I beleive up to 5 slots. So you can run dual widebands, feed it a gauge signal, anything that is 0-5 volts.

let me take a crack at clarifying this for you so you can see the added value of buying the pro model more clearly as well as all the not as good ways you can go

vcm scanner= scanner functions only ** no editor**

vcm suite standard = vcm scanner and vcm editor with no plug in the side of the interface for external sensor feeds

vcm suite pro= vcm scanner and vcm editor with plug in the side of interface so you can add external sensor feeds into your scan data real time

you can run a wideband seperate of any hpt interface and have someone else drive while you watch the wideband display and adjust for what you see with vcm editor - its a "schwag" to get you in the ballpark- you probably wont get within +or - .3 afr at all rpm's this way but its better than running 13 to 1 with a car that should be 12 to 1 the methods below are preferred

you can run a wideband with a standard interface by wiring your wideband through your egr or ac and as long as you configure it properly the data will drop in your scans real time - this will not be great for portability when you do want to tune a friends car or another vehicle of yours

you can hook the wideband up to the pro interface directly via the plug on the side of the interface and as long as you configure it properly the data will drop in your scans real time in an enhanced fashion since the pro logs its external feeds at a faster frame rate providing more data samples to base your adjustments off of
