  • Good, working monsoon speakers.

I'm looking for a set of monsoon speakers. I have read that aftermarket won't cut it unless I get a new amp or bybass the monsoon amp. So I'm looking for a stock set or does anyone have any other suggestions? My two rear speakers (the ones next to the the backseats) are blown out and sound like ****. Thanks

You definitely can do better than stock. I just threw mine in the garbage a few weeks back. You've got some options.

Problem is I read that aftermarket aren't set up to go with the system the way the stocks are. I'm talking about the rear speakers that are next to the rear seats. Apparently those speakers can be replaced with aftermarket but sound like crap. Unless someone knows of an aftermarket pair that will work?

CAN I REPLACE THE STOCK MONSOON SPEAKERS AND GET BETTER SOUND?
You can but they may not sound their best. The woofers in the Monsoon setup are all 2ohms (Firebird subs have dual 4ohm voice coils that are run in parallel as a 2ohm load). Replacing the factory 2ohm woofers with 4ohm woofers, the industry standard, will cause you to lose about half of the available power and really isn't recommended.

Yo man, I replaced the sail panel subs (they are 6" subs) in my car yesterday. You can't go with a regular pair of speakers because the Monsoon system doesn't work right with them. The subs there have 4 connections while most speakers have just two. You can go on eBay and buy a pair of stockers or you could buy these http://www.keeaudio.com/bazooka.html, which I did and they sound good.
