I don't know how your O2 senors are hooked up but if there is one after the Cat it will throw a code, if there is one just before it , it shouldn't throw a code. I would suggest putting it in the rear with a 3" turn down and be done.

I have no cat but a resonator in its place and have no rasp.

i have 3.4l...no cat...pacesetter headers...3" flowmaster exhaust...and i only get rasp in the high rpms...im just looking for a new sound soo im thinking to just get a muffler...
Flowmaster, Magnaflow will rasp only ones I found to not to rasp was Summit turbo and Dynomax super turbo or using a resonator like I do.

No Cat , just a 8" long , 6" around deisel resonator where the cat should be. If you want some decent sound out of it Dynoma Super turbo , if you have headers and or a cam it will sound even better.

I would suggest putting it in the rear with a 3" turn down and be done.
Well my '99 has the Y87 package so it came with the dual turn downs and I like how it looks so I want to keep the duals. So what if I replace the cat add the muffler somewhere after it and cut out the factory muffler add a Y so I can keep my dual turn downs.

Thats the only good ones I have foundm never tried hooker mufflers or Borla.

No I just tried the Summit turbo muffler , only Bullet style is whats on my car now DYnomax Bullet race muffler, But my engine is completly built now so mines completly different.

I think Im going to go the single in dual out set up so I can keep my turn downs. Im thinking about just dumping it before the axle too, but leaning more towards the factory turn downs.
