• WTB 1996-1998 Throttle Body, Manual

I need a throttle body for a my 1996 m5 firebird. Any throttle body from a 1996-1998 manual camaro or firebird will work.

I might also be interested in the sensors mounted on the TB (TPS, MAF) and the IAC if the price is right.

I have three of them that I refurbished and painted. I didn't port/polish them, just tore them apart, thouroughly cleaned them, then reassembled. I'll email pics to you when I get home from work tonight.

I have two with about 5,000 miles on the sensors, and I have one that has no sensors. Post which one you are interested in, and I'll send the pic to you. Gotta go now...

BTW, the IAC is not mounted on the TB. It bolts onto the upper intake by it'self.

I know the IAC is not mounted on the TB. That's why it is not in the parentheses with the TPS and MAF

I have one question: Did you take the butterfly off when you disassembled the TBs?

I would like the answer to that, and the prices of both the TB with the sensors and without. You can pm it to me if you'd like.

      Thanks

Yes, I tear the TB down to it's bare skeleton and clean the butterfly, return springs, (etc) seperately, then reassemble. I leave the Idle screw alone though. The factory's setting is what it's tuned for, so I don't touch it.

Here are a few TB's that I've rebuilt. The one on the left with the red arm is currently on my car. The one on the right is a bare TB without any sensors, but I have -yet- another one WITH sensors that looks similar.

I've read your post about the strange idle you're having and before you go buying another TB, you should check/replace your IAC. I had the same problem with my idle and I found out that the IAC was to blame. Just trying to save you some money.
