Re: 3.8 throttle body spacer needed
I don't know how creative you are, but you can buy a thin piece of DELRIN that is 7.5" round and make a spacer yourself. Just remove the TB and trace it onto the Delrin and cut with a hacksaw or bandsaw. Measure or trace the other cutouts and bore with a Dremel.sigpic

that will be big enough for a spacer? Also that is pretty thin at .313" thick, usually they are .5-.75" thick

when i got ours it also only came with 1 gasket in lieu of what was advertised. called them and they sent out another gasket.
yes it blocked off the coolant flow to the tb.
u can put your hand on the upper intake and its HOT put your hand on the tb, barely warm..

but i didnt run straight water either...50/50 on the coolant worked for me..
i have heard that 2000+ (drive by wire) do not like a thermo any colder than 180...i was planning on a 160 but change that up to 180...havent had a lick of probs.
just remember to reprogram your fan settings if you install a colder thermostat.
good luck

I had a weird problem that i figured the trottle was stuck in that when i let off the break the enigin would go up to 35 mph by itself and when i turned the car off the rpms shot way up. Anything else you think would cause this? Or just a cleaning of the TB would fix it?Check out my cardomain site!
My Car

Originally posted by 99pewterv6Alright sounds good I am going to get the TB spacer from ZZP then with two gaskets. Figured I might as well get a spacer since i was going to take the TB off and clean it.

sounds like another thread is needed. maybe in tech or tuning...
