hey man were going to hafto do it next weekend if your around...this weekends gonna be a wash out

Ok i just went out and checked under my car, this is what i saw...

I saw 2 lines running to the rear end, one went to each side, they looked like the brake lines. Their is no reluctor rings behind my rotors, and then of course i saw the shocks, springs and panhard bar and rear sway bar...thats all.

yea thats fine for next weekend... ok you have a tracion control rear so i will have to take my brake set-up off of my rear and yours off and then swap them back on. is there by any chance a sesnor in the top of the pumpkin cause I could plug into that to at least make the abs think there is something there was your rear the factory rear or out of a different car?

factory...stock rearend that came with the car...98 besides the posi and gears obv.

thats wierd then cause the reluctor rings and sesnors should be outboard for the traction control but we'll see when you pull the rear i guess, mine has the reluctor rings and all so you'll have functioning ABS again :banana: sorry bout all the questions just tryin to get everything straight thats all

yah i know it....im pretty mechanically inclined, i just havent done a rear end swap...read Andrews guide tho and I should have it out in no time...

But as far as my rear end goes, when i had new breaks and calipers put on last year the shop called me and told me they were having trouble finding the correct parts for it...so they ended up matching the part numbers and they said i had a very odd make camaro...they said i had the complete SS breaking and rear end package besides the stock 3.08's and open differential that used to be in it.

yea what you have is traction control with discs which was an option for our v6 cars just not a popular one without a posi unit... its not hard at all to drop the rear as long as everything isnt rusted together you sould be able to have it out in 2 hrs i, i was thinking i actually live in poughkeepsie but i am going to be going to SPAC for a concert on wednesday the 30th so if you want I could drop mine off then and pick yours up it would be around 5 ish or so if not we can shoot for next weekend let me know

well i live about 2 hrs south of clifton park so it would be a little out of the way thats why i figured for the 30th since ill be going right past you anyways so let me know if thats cool or not, im figuring the best thing to do is pull both of our brake set-ups off and we'll just keep our own ok, also do you have an aluminum diff cover or just the stocker cause ide give you some cash for the aluminum if you want but thats up to you if you have one ;)

nope..stock cover...so yah we will plan it for the 30th, and yah i was planning on keeping our own braking system...that way i can just pull the rotor off, and let the caliper hang...it will be a faster process to switch everything over anyways.

i was planning on keeping everything from my brakes, i was just gonna show up with an axle with backing plates and all the gears and axles of course ;) cause I have a non traction control car cause so i only have one line going to my rear so just pull everything off brakes wise, lines, calipers, rotors and we'll be good to go, you wanna email me your address so i can mapquest it and then we'll be waiting for the 30th :D
