I am in urgent need of a starter bendix for a 96 Camaro RS. If I don't hear back within a day or so, I'm going to go ahead and just purchase the part off of eBay.
Please, if you have this part, let me know and I'll take it off your hands. I'll take an entire starter if the price and condition is right.
I'll be checking this thread (subscribed) quite often. Please post here or send me a PM if you have the part.
Re: URGENT: Starter bendix for 1996 3.8L v6 Camaro RS
Hmm... the shop didn't offer to replace the bendix on my starter when it went out. Thing lost the spring and started floating, hitting the flywheel whenever I was on a slope.
I don't have the part, but I do have some advice. If you end up getting a new starter, don't buy it from a shop if they're installing it. They will mark up the price after getting it from the local Autozone or O'Reily's. Buy it yourself and take it to them or even check the dealership. A new stock starter was the cheapest option out of all the places I checked.
