    Re: 3.8L 3800 v6 engine

im doing a rebuild right now and its taking a while, and when you price in shipping and all that jazz, costs about the same. i spent $405 on machine work (including having them put the short block together), and $244 on bearings, rings, and freeze plugs, and through o'reillys they have all of the gasket kits for about $200. I work for a dealership so i got discounts on all my crap, including machine work, so you could maybe add another $200 for a total of around a grand for a complete engine that will more than likely last you another ten years. thats just my $.02

BTW i think TomRs just shipped an engine, maybe you could find him and see what it cost.

well i found a motor a few miles down the road from a repair shop. it comes from a 96 camaro.. the guy is asking $700 ($50 core).. but im sure i can get it for 500 cash.. so unless someone wants to sell one for less than 500 shipped thats what im going to do
