Re: WTB Rebuilt or low mileage 4L60
robin.
just change the fluid
flush it
whatever method you wish to do.
id do first before you start looking for looking for rebuilt ones.
getting a rebuilt one or a new one is going to be significantly HIGHER than doing the maint.

Re: WTB Rebuilt or low mileage 4L60
If you have the area to do it... rebuilding one's not that hard... I did it for the first time on the tranny for my 89 Blazer last summer... you may be able to find a rebuild video on eBay as well as a rebuild kit... might be something to look into, could save yourself a few hundred bucks...
There are a few things that you may not be able to do bc it requires a special tool, but when you get to that point you may be able to find a shop that will loan you the tool, or do like I did and take that part to a shop and have them do it... they charged me like $20 to set the seals for me at Independent TransmissionLast edited by T-Mill; 07-17-2009, 02:53 PM.Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...
