Anyone currently enlisted in military? Or former military?

So im set to ship off oct 7th to Fort Jackson for basic training then to Hauchuca for AIT. My mos for the army is 35g (imagery analyst). Was just wondering about any of our other members and if anyone has been in basic recently.

i went to basic a few years back. This has been posted a lot recently... I am on my umpteenth deployment right now. Can't wait to come home in April...

Went to Ft Jackson for basic. From personal experience, I'd say if you got a prob with authority hide it quick cause they will see it, otherwise it's a breeze. Jackson is coed so they don't do or say nearly what they would at benning or others. You'll have fun with victory tower, brm, oh the gas chamber is a good time and 3 squares a day. Despite it being just Ft Jackson, I gurantee you will remember that first day when you get off the bus the rest of your life.

P.S. Don't laugh or roll your eyes at the drill sergants, they don't like that very much. Yes I'm speaking from experience there too, lol.

i just signed too. i was supposed to be going to jackson in november, but my ship date got pused all the way til january, and and now i go to lenoard wood missouri. my mos is 25S (sattalite communications). have fun bud!

Man that sucks you got pushed back who knows could of been in same platoon. I tried soo hard for 25s but could not get it to save my life never came up when i threw my social in finally took imagery analyst. Got so mad because kid i went to meps with didnt have an mos and he left with sat communications.


Im not bad with arguing more of a respectful person, don think i will have much trouble there i just hate being picked out of a crowd but who doesnt?!?

Bad thing is about glasses im already blind as a bat.

Got so mad because kid i went to meps with didnt have an mos and he left with sat communications.

the reason it got pushed back was because the first time i went to meps i was too skinny, so i lost my slot to go to basic. then i went again and there wasnt a slot open for sat com, so my counselor, knowing i got screwed called a guy who called a guy who called a guy and opened a slot. it was a later date, but same job and bonus, which is apparently unheardof nowadays.

Took my pt today. Did great on the run 2 miles in 11:20, had 16 minutes to do it. Did horrible on sit ups guess cause i havent done them in 3 years thought i could blow them away push ups i passed but not by much... going to practice my sit ups now before crashing.
