so i was just looking at the official list of cars traded in for cash for clunkers....
more than 400 ford mustangs, probably 600 camaros, 2005 mazda rx8, 2006 Nissan 350z convertible, 1997 Aston Martin DB7, 1997 Rolls Royce Continental R, two 2006 ROUSH f150s, four Audi s4s, over 200 corvettes, can you say **** Obama and cash for clunkers?!
What the hell is wrong with people?

Would've been okay in my book if they had offered $4500 for trade-ins and would have left out the mpg and destroying valuable cars once traded in... all it did was benefit the people who could afford to buy new cars, and hurt the people who rely on the used-car market to purchase their cars...
but that's the point... they didn't do it to stimulate the new-car market, they did it bc they think it's going to stop Global-Warming... I mean Climate Change...
Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...

heres the official list good news is tho is that on the other list of new cars bought from CARS trade ins, a ****load of brand new camaros were purchased :rock:

Ya it wouldn't have bothered me so badly if they hadn't taken the traded in cars and locked up the motors before crushing them. If they had just taken them and gave them to junkyards just look at how many good used parts there would be for us to get ahold of. Oh well I have the same attitude as the OP, F*** OBAMA and the majority of his BS!

There is some info floating around out there that the difference in a car that gets 12mpg for 12,000 miles a year uses like 800 gals of fuel a year and a car that gets 25mpg for 12,000 miles a year uses like 480gals... times that by 250,000 cars and you save like 3.5 mil barrels of oil a year.... 3.5 MILLION BARREL IS LESS THAN 1/4 THE US DAILY CONSUMPTION. ITS GOING TO TAKE 10 YEARS TO SEE ANYYYYY BENEFIT

AGREED^^^!! I think Obama is also trying to cut the US oil dependency from the mid-east, but I'm not so sure it's gonna work.
It is too bad that the traded cars were trashed, as T-mill and others have said, not everyone could afford to take so-called advantage of C4C to buy a new car (which won't be worth anything in a year or 2 anyway), and the parts they need are now in toasters and appliances. Anyone need a new toaster?

For the Camaros and Vettes , they would of got more out of them depending on year just selling them or parting them out, makes me sick if they blew up a 98+ ls1 engine, even though they had their flaws, they could be rebuilt and reprogramed and they would get better gas mileage. Theres also the Steve fund they could send me the engines.LOL

I don't blame Obama for them trading in certain types of cars, that is their decision, but who's decision was it to destroy them once they're traded in?
