Ear infections suck

So I went to the Dr. on Mon. for my right ear , been hurting real bad and having a hih pitch sound from it. Also can't hear much out of it. Gave me some antibotics(amoxaziln I think) which don't seem to be working, and now the outside part of my ear is starting to peel skin. So I'm going back to see him again. Going up I think I never had a ear infection, I know as a adult I haven't now this.LOL Anyone else have tips for ear infections, Monday he said the ear drum looked red, and its been about 2 weeks since it started hurting.

that sucks... few weeks back my ear was killing me, they cleaned my ear out and gave me ceftin (spelling?)... felt gr8 after that

Ohh ear infections...they do suck horribly. I used to get them as a kid 3 times a year and sometimes in the summer from going swimming and water and bacteria getting in my ear. I haven't had one in probably about 6 or 7 years. I remember not being able to lay on the side I had the infection on when sleeping it hurt so bad. I took ear drops regularly for the problem, which never seemed to help. You just have to let it run its course. Antibiotics will kill the infection, it takes time. Take all of the pills when you are supposed to.

Ohh ear infections...they do suck horribly. I used to get them as a kid 3 times a year and sometimes in the summer from going swimming and water and bacteria getting in my ear. I haven't had one in probably about 6 or 7 years. I remember not being able to lay on the side I had the infection on when sleeping it hurt so bad. Your right about not being able to lay on the infected side, I can just push around the ear and it seems like it hurts all the way to my ear drum. I think your right about getting water in there and getting infected, becuase sometimes the inside of the ear is full of water type substance. This coming Monday I get a Camera down into the heart to take pictures again. JOY!, not a good 2 weeks so far. I just never had a ear infection its weird, 35yrs. old. Thanks guys.

The WORST pain ive ever dealt with in my life, was an ear infection. I had the most ungodly pain that I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy.

How long did you have your infection? What did they do for it? I'm still taking my other meds for my back 120 MG. of Oxycotin, 4000MG of muscle relatants and 2400 MG. of nerve blockers and my damm ear still hurts worse than my back.LOL I can't sleep, been up for 30 hours now my right ear is just in pain and has a ringing sound which I can't hear crap out of it. Also it is swollon where a Q-tip won't fit in the ear.

I only dealt with that pain for probably less than a day, but the doctor gave me antibiotics, ear drops, and pain killers, which were strong, but he would only prescribe them for 2 days, so If I still had pain I had to go back.

The infection probably lasted a week.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever had an ear infection... then again, I've also never had strep throat either. Get to feeling better. You need the energy to get working on the turbo build.

Thanks, I'm going to try and take it down to the exhaust shop tomorrow for step one make my stock pipes better so they can be setup so they can be taken off and put back on in case I need to take the turbo off for something I can put the stock pipes back on and still run it N/A. I got inline turn off valves for the oil lines and water lines for the turbo lines. I figure I'll do it in 3 stages, do the stock routing , then do the turbo oval pipping, then last the downpipe to the exsisting exhaust. I hope to pay $200-$300 for labor since I have the pipes and connections. Need to get over these illness problems. I was thinking of asking him if he could do it for cheaper and I'll put a banner on my car for his shop so at the track or driving around he'll get some free advertizement. Cool guy he fix up one of my messed up pipes for $20 before.

Amoxicillin and Clavulanate tablets 875mg worked within a couple of days for me. Something else that worked one time for me is a cap full of white vinegar and cap full of rubbing alcohol mix then clean ear with Q-tip. Hope you get better.

Ear infections are aweful... I went to the ENT doc once for it and my ears were packed with ear wax, my dad has the same problem... The wax is supposed to move out from the ear canal on it's own and carry any bacteria and other unwanted crap out with it, but for some reason mine doesn't... I don't know if yours is the same as mine, but I also get sinus infections with it and the doc told me that I will eventually need to have my adenoids removed...

and I know what you mean about the whole area being sore, when my ears start hurting, anything comes close to them and I cringe...

This is my first ear infection , so I don't think wax would be it, I take 120mg of OXycotion for my back so I thought it wouldn't hurt as much as it does, so I might go down and see the Dr. again.

probably the worst pain i have even been was from ear infections, a few years back, i had 2 in the same month, i couldnt even think or do anything, i was so miserable i had to have cotton in my ears at all times, and keep my headed tilted or he paint was unbearable

another bad experience, was first getting break dust in my eyes while wearing contacts, and second, burning my eyes with welder, and melting my contacts to the eye balls,worst pain! blistering my eyes, and they were bleeding, i couldnt open or close my eyes the pain was so bad, it was a constant flutter of my eyes till i got some eye numbing drops

wax doesn't cause mine... it just compounds them...
