My roommate is in the police Academy and he did the driving training a week or so ago, and I was stunned when he told me that they used rentals... The police academy rents them from Enterprise for the weekend and literally beats them to within inches of still being operable... They don't wreck them or anything, but my roommate said that the car his group was in didn't shift into reverse or O/D by the time they were done with it, and the engine was knocking like crazy... lol...
Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...
When I was in high school, I got rear ended in front of the school, and my car was in the bodyshop, they gave me a rental. It was a huge POS, tranny slipped, it smoked, looked like hell, etc...
One day we decided we were gonna "jump" it off this little dirtpile that was off the road, well, after about the 4th time of hitting this dirtpile, the engine cradle broke off the car and the motor and trans were just laying on the ground.
We had one of my buddies come hook up a tow strap to the car, pull it a half a block down the street and called the body shop told them the car broke down and they needed to come tow it.
when i had to take my car in to have the rear bumper redone, they gave me a hyundai sonata. wasnt a bad car but i treated it like ****. it had a auto with the manual shift option thing. that car took a beating, cant even remember how many times id downshift to first gear from 70 in it lol.
car was supposed to get like 23mpg, think the best i got out of it in the week i had it was 13mpg.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it
