Seller Feedback: Shortman1124

I don't know where to put this, but I want to make sure everyone knows. I was supposed to buy a stealth box from shortman1124, and he claimed to not have PayPal but to do a money order instead. I figured this was fine, since he said he would ship first. The 4th he told me he would get it in the mail that weekend and that I could go ahead and send payment his way. Monday he sends me a message saying he hurt his back at work and hasn't sent it out yet, but will have his wife do it on Tues. It's now the 25th (2 weeks since he signed on, 3 weeks since my box was supposed to be shipped) and I have yet to see the box. I never sent payment because I feared this would happen. He hasn't signed back on since the 11th, and I haven't been able to contact him. I sent him one last e-mail saying I'm writing this up and posting it, and if he has a legitimate excuse, to let me know.


Cliffnotes: shortman1124 tried to scam me out of $85. Don't deal with him....

You didnt pay him, you are out no money... There was no transaction.

The problem is... shortman thought the money order was in the mail, and if you're going to back out of a sale it's not only a courtesy, but an obligation to let the buyer know... He didn't just change his mind, he didn't hold up to his end of the deal... if there were extenuating circumstances that come to light via communication by shortman, radracer will now be obligated to post that, but as it stands, there is nothing wrong with Radracer posting his experience...

I'm trying to warn others not to deal with him. Sorry for trying to be a good person and prevent anyone from getting scammed by this guy. He told me to go ahead and send the MO, even though our conditions were he would ship first. If things change, I will post up, but as of right now, he's a scammer in my book. I'm not whining that he backed out on the sale; I do that ALOT. I'm complaining because, IMO, he tried to screw me out of $85, and I'm trying to warn others about it!

Before I ship anything I will have money in hand or paypal first, I never have done shipping first without having money in hand, same goes if I buy something off of ebay, thats just what I do so I don't get scammed and I'll tale money orders once they clear through the bank. Also I will look at how many posts the person has or ebay feedback left.

No Paypal = No Sale. Anytime I sell on ebay or anywhere else, I only accept Paypal as payment. I have been buying and selling on ebay since 2002 and I have not had any problem yet.

That's how I usually do it; either PP or I meet the person and give/get cash. If neither of those work, chances are I won't buy/sell. But, he offered to ship first, so I went with it. He then "delayed" his shipping thinking I would go ahead and send the money anyways. He was wrong, and I still have my money :)

Finally got a reply from him:
"**** you im not a scammer i got plenty of feed back. ive sold headers on here before and shipped first *****. i got a perfect ebay score and perfect feedback on caraudio.com. if elitecaraudio was still up then you could check my feedback on there as well. check howardforums i got perfect feedback on there too soo **** off *****"


Took him nearly 2 weeks to get back with me, and he doesn't appologize, give an excuse, or anything. Instead he starts swearing and throwing out other places I could check for feedback.....I asked him about other places for feedback before we went with the deal and he didn't give me any, but now he has a whole list?. I'd avoid dealing with him.

ok before you start calling me a scammer lets get things straight. i never scammed you. the last time i messaged you was off my wifes phone in the e.r. and i told you that i had ****ed up my back at work and it turned out that i had a ****ing hernia and needed surgery. and that was the last time i logged on in the past two weeks cause ive been in bed!!! sorry my wife never got around ti shipping it she has work and we have two kids, im sorry that shipping out a box was not a top priority. do you really think that im gonna **** up my feedback for a box that i was selling for $80?
ive sold headers and a full exhaust on here with no problems. and how would i scam u if i was shipping first you idiot? the whole agreement was that ill ship the box, when you received it you sent the money order, there is no way i could have scammed you unless your ****ing stupid and sent the money order first. which i never ever asked you to do.

look dude i told you that i hurt my back at work and i needed to get surgery for a hernia!!! ive been in bed for two weeks. you never asked me if i had any feedback or refs. ive always had good feedback from everyone that ive dealt with online. check my feedback on caraudio.com, elitecaraudio.com, ebay, howardforums. its all under the same username shortman1124 . its not like i made them up my refs go back as far as two years. i never scammed nor tried to scam you. i told you a couple weeks ago that i hurt myself at work and i would try to get the box out to you by the weekend. im sorry my wife never got around to shipping it seeing as how we do have two kids and she does work . i never thought it was a big deal seeing as how YOU NEVER SENT ME ANYTHING!!! you have my number i emailed it to you if you had any questions. you coulda easily picked up the phone and called. again ive been in bed the past two weeks not online. i dont see how you can say i tried to scam u when i was shipping firs you idiot!!!

i never thought the money order was in the mail because the agreements was that i would ship first so why would i think that he sent the money order first? the agreement was that once he recieved the box he would let me know and send the money order. and i know its common courtesy to let the buyer know if the sale fell through, i sent him an email telling him exactly what happened and i also gave him my NUMBER!!! i had surgery im sorry i wasnt out and about a day after suregery. i have priorities and they are getting better so i can support my family not getting out of bed after surgery to send this guy an $80 box. before accusing me on the message boards of trying to scam him he could have picked up the phone and said " hey this is so and so from firebirdv6 what goin on with that box?"

You told me about your back and that was it, nothing about needing a surgery. You never gave me your # either, but you did say you would have your wife send it out and that I could go ahead and send payment. Since you told me to go ahead and send payment, I feel you tried to scam me. What I took from our conversations was this: at first you agreed to ship first, and me send payment once I received the box. This was fine with me, and I was ready to do the transaction. You then PM'd me saying you hurt your back, but would have it shipped out by your wife and that I could go ahead and send payment. This made me think you wanted me to go ahead and send the money, believing you sent the box or would soon. After that, I sent you a few PM's with no responses, leading me to believe you thought I sent the money and now have disappeared.

Like I said, if you have a good excuse, which it seems you do, don't worry about it. You explained yourself, and I'm sorry for falsely accusing you. Hope you have a quick recovery and find another buyer for that box :). Although, first e-mail I get back from you is very defensive and you call me some ugly names....might want to work on that :P

just end it already... you both think your right, personally i dont agree with your reason for posting this radracer.
You have a point that he may not be the best seller, but you didnt get scammed, you didnt lose any money, i know for a fact you've backed out of a sale before, ive seen you tell people you want their parts a million times and then have an excuse as to why you cant buy them after you were sure you wanted them and called dibs...

Not everyone can be satisfied with a transaction, quit being a baby about it, drop it,... people now know your situation, no need to beat a dead horse.

Just be happy you still have your money.
