just saw an advertisement on craigslist for a 84 Hurst Olds with the Lightning shfiter, saw a picture of the cente counsel with teh gear shifters and i was like huh? three shift knobs? then i went on youtube and saw this cool video that explains how to drive a lightning shifter, thought it was pretty interesteing to share.
It kinda just reminds me of a full manual valve body (by the sounds of the 2nd gear shift I would think so) with a different form of ratcheting type shifter. Kinda neat but as said...ill stick with my single shifter since with the rebuilt tranny my car eats the hell outta 2nd at WOT.
I got a friend who used to have a camaro that had the crossfire injection engine in it. It was in great condition until his neighbor decided to let his pile of burning leaves blow onto the old wood shed it was parked in. The car, a 4 wheeler, lawnmower, all kinds of stuff was reduced to ashes. The fire got so hot that the aluminum motor on the 300ex melted into a lump.
the lightning rod shifter I think is pretty bad ***. Yes the 84 only came with 180 hp but at the time the only competition was the GN with 205hp. Is no hp machine like how some cars r today but for the time it was pretty stout.
