  • My jeeps undergoing some changes in the next few months

So I dropped about 5 grand in a matter of 3 weeks or so on my jeep...

    Shes undergoing some major changes.

Its currently sitting on stock axles, dana 30/35 combo on 35" tires with 4.10 gear's... and lockers front and rear. Competition cut, no sway bars, no track bars, no bump stops etc... It flexes too much for a 4" lift so I had to really cut the crap out of the body to make it work... and its still not where I wanted it

So I decided to go out and buy some axles, Dana 60 1 ton axles, High pinion, King pin 4.10 gears and lockers ATLAS t-case and lengthen the wheel base from 93" to about 108"

I bought 2 sets of Humvee H1 double beadlock wheels (price was right) and a set of 37" tires which I planned on running, until yesterday. I came across a set of 42" TSL's used but had about 60-70% tread so I bought em up.

I also just ordered a hydraulic assist steering, as well as a new gear box and p/s pump cuz they are shot... A rebuilt kit for my dana 60 front axle, Runflat wheel inserts and a handful of other crap I need to do the swap..

    Here is it now...

Should be done by new years, HOPEFULLY...
Heres a pic of the 42" tires against how it sits now with the stock axles and 4" lift

and just for the hell of it, heres a pic of a jeep we built for my buddy, its pretty insane.

Damn, that sounds like a fun project. That wheel/tire combo is going to look sick on there. Definitely post up pics when it's all together.

thats pretty cool, im a jeep fan, i would love to own one, but two of my good friends love jeeps, one of them would probably be flipping out if he saw what you are doing to it

im trying to buy my friends old jeep that he sold to someone, bought it for $500 at the auction with 230,000 miles (it was a 93' i think) and it was an arizona car with NO rust, sold it for $500 and the guy who bought it replaced the stock clutch and the obvious cracked exhaust manifold, but i think he wants to sell it now for around $1500.. has over 300k on the clock now

Its going to be a monster Matt, damm. I was going to put another $3000-$4000 into my car , Performbuilt stage II tranny, the head/intake, double roller install and then the used L26 motor to work on the side with. But I'm going to wait on the tranny and used L26 and just see how the engine goes and the turbo first. Good luck on the build I hope to have mine done by end of Jan. or sooner with the turbo on.

Its pretty cool,. Im a very impatient person, and I am DYING to get this thing done... I told myself it was gonna be a winter project and take my time but Im shootin for a new years run...

The full width axles with the offset of the beadlocks the tires should hang far enough outside of the body to clear the 42's...

The front fenders will probably have to be highly modified if not removed, but I dont want to remove them cuz Ill lose the snorkel, But life goes on. I think I will run the jeep like this for all of next year on leaf springs, and probably end up rebuilding next winter again to coils.... Coil suspension and 4 link just isnt in my budget right now.

I did however order a half dozen 20 ft sticks of DOM tubing for my rollcage add on... The stock sport bar just isnt gonna cut it.

Just run the snorkel through the glove box and up through the dash.

So... It's not done yet. Not really even close. I finished the front axle last night but havent even started on the rear yet.

I took this pic a few weeks ago when I was maching up the front wheels to get my ride height. With the tires & rims on, it measures 95" wide.
