Jay Leno's Twin Turbo V6 Camaro. It is said to be making 430 hp. And this is Calif. emission complaint too.
Jay was there too, but I missed him.
This the 2011 Mustang V6. It's said to have 305 hp and it'll do 30mpg. It's also 350lbs lighter than the V6 Camaro. It's due to come out in the summer of 2010... yup the Camaro V6 is in trouble.
Re: Just a few Pics. I took at the L. A. Auto Show
That intake, that looks like it is running tuned length runners, short on one side long on the other. That is an interesting setup. Plus an x-pipe and duals!

Ah the LFA, I was just reading about that car. Can't remember a damn single spec about it. Other than it's suppose to be really fast and is basically made of carbon fiber.

Anybody wanna comment on that 2011 Mustang V6 due to come out in the summer of '10.
It's got 305hp and it's 350lbs lighter than the Camaro V6 and it'll do 30mpg. I'm guessing this is going to be a 14.2 e.t. Stang vs. the Camaro's 14.6.

I bet there #'s are off so they can sell more, I want to see one on the dyno and wait for Motor Week to test one , there pretty good at doing there tests. I'm sure the new Camaro can lose some weight somewhere but I'll stick with my 2800-2900LB 96' 3.8 Camaro, soon to be turboed and put Jay Lenos new V6 twin turbo with over 400 WRHP to shame with 1 turbo. My goal now is 450 WRHP with my current weight. I have another 4 years off with full pay and no bills(except medical) so it should be fun to see my Performbuilt tranny 3200 stall and 12 bolt with 3.42's go in there for $4900. Then it will be track worthy.LOL
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

That's cool Steve. I'm glad you got your project going for you. I think Jay Leno's Camaro is at a conservative side. He has to stay emission and epa legal. Which is almost impossible to do here in Calif. But yours being light weight as it is will run circles around that.
Yeah, Ford does have a Duratec V6 engine in its stable that produces 305 hp. I think it's about time they put it in the Mustang.
But then again, we are now seeing the last of the V6 push rod engine go from the pony cars and in general from cars with V6.

I'm not thrilled about Ford. All they did was copy the idea, and make it seem better. I imagine it will have the better stats on paper, but will suffer in the live tests. Besides, I still see Mustangs in the Ford lots. I never see any Camaros; they sell too fast. 350lbs might be a god send from Ford for those who are looking at an entry level Mustang, but (from personal experience) Mustang transmissions have always sucked. 5 speed as opposed to 6 speed, plus Ford's 5 speed has always been slow in 5th gear. They geared it too low to use it more as an over-drive gear rather than a proper 5th gear. No GM 6 speed has had that issue in the higher gears; every t-56 I've driven has had a great 5th and 6th gear when it comes to ability to still accelerate regardless of rpms and speed. So, IMO, I think the Camaro will remain to be the better car soly based on transmission comparison rather than weight and power.
Correct me if I'm wrong.:twak:
I ate a bowl of fail this morning.

Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
