So how was 2009 for you?

For me it was the worst year EVER!!!!.

I thought 2008 was bad, but 2009 is the worst.

I couldn't find a decent paying job. I felt like I was living part time in the hospital. My wife's situations has gotten worst (she needs a heart transplant). I am 5x's more in debt than I was last year. My manager won't lower my rent, eventhough she was giving discount to those who are moving in, which they are paying $70 less. I've been asking my parents and my sister for money, which really hurt my dignity.

AND to top it all off, I was a witness to my neighbor's murder 3 weeks ago.

So 2009 sucks big time. I'm not optimistic about 2010 at all.

It was a year of mixed emotions for me. I got married, got promised orders in Texas, got royaly ****ed, moved back, and now I'm trying to make money in every way possible. I feel the same as Thor for 2010; not optimistic at all.

Graduated high school, finished my first semester at Clarkson. Had a lot of fun in between.

I'd say mine went well.

absolute worst year ever. The Z28 had all this happen to it:
-avoiding a deer, hit guardrail
-$1900 to fix, outta my pocket
-starter went
-opti went
-waterpump seal went had to replace whole unit
-icm went
-rebuilt rearend
-alternator went
-replaced battery terminal cables/battery
-got cutoff and rearended a lady (totaled)

97 RS
-alternator TWICE (one was faulty)
-coil packs (which were less than 10K miles old)
-mom backed into her

got arrested for a felony larsony i didnt commit (charges dismissed and police apologized but it was still nerve racking/annoying to go to court)

3 deaths in the family...etc etc etc....
and the list goes

It was a decent year for me.


- Got into some good schools over the summer to continue studying Arabic (Georgetown and GW, ended up at GW).
- Headed to Egypt by myself for a month, no reservations or anything. Had a blast.
- Finished my second to last semester of college.
- Made some good contacts and found some potential job opportunities that are promising.

Sorry to hear that you guys had a rough year. Best of luck in 2010!

2009 has been horrible

i have been suffering from depression for 99% of the year
had to fix my car a dozen times
car is acting weird today
had to end it with this one girl because she was forced to move 2 hours away
was used by another girl, who is a *****
got my hopes up for two good jobs that fell through
major back pain almost every day for half of the year

it just doesnt end

mine started off horrid, then went up, then back down and im already losing hope in 2010.

grandma died just after the new year started.

the only good thing that came from this year was my wife giving birth to our first child.

been looking for 11 months for a better job and cant find ****

car is falling apart around me. everytime i fix one thing something else breaks.

managed to go further in debt with each passing month.

we moved to get away from trashy neighbors, only to get stuck to a bunch of idiots who party all the ****ing time.

got the wife a new car, 2 weeks later it gets broken into

my health is all over the place. as is half my family.


this year has just sucked balls for me. blah. 2010 better treat me better or i might be in a padded room in 2011.

Overall I'd say it was a good year, although it had its ups and downs.
Bad: two deaths in the family, blew my engine, wrecked the camaro, grandma's second story blew up, girls, need a job, got sick
Good: Spent time with friends and made new ones, started college and started well, got a scholarship before I left high school, fixed my car, spending more time with family, girls ;)

I think life is what you make of it, you can focus on the bad things that happen, or you can move on and look on the bright side. Pull the ones you care about closer, you never know when they're gone. Chase the things in life you want most, and don't look at the obstacles.
I hope 2010 brings a brighter year for you all, but just remember all the good you have in life too.

EDIT: oh yeah, as for my hope for 2010, I think it'll be a good year. It means a year with all the people I know, and more time here. I guess I'm just never sure of how many new year's I'll get.

me and my aunt end of 09

2009 sucked. i left one job for promise at another, then they started laying people off. My grandmother who raised me for 8 years of my life passed away unexpectedly...now im waiting to leave for army basic training, and damnit, 2010 will be better.

it was a decent year, lots and lots of car stuff from drag racing/road america/car shows and cruises. Second year of college began and it was hard semester. Overall the year wasnt the greatest but cant wait for 2010!!!!

09' sucked didn't get any surgiers done do to insurance not covering the heart closure and they won't do my back until the heart is fixed do to the blood thinners and the back procedure being to stressful on the bad heart. But did get another 4 years of Long Term Disability & SSD and will be switching to another insurance plan so I hope they will cover the procedures. Good thing, I probably make more money on disability then when I was working since I only have to get taxed on have on the LTD disability I make. I hope to get at least the heart taken care of this year and do the 6 months - year recovery and then do the back which is a year recovery, 3-6 months in bed and 6 months rehab. So will see, too bad they can't fix my brain, I would be good as new. LOL
