  • A little bit of TLC today

Completed the following work to my 1993 Firebird today.

    Oil & Filter change.
Rear differential Gear Oil change. (Sucked out the old fluid and replaced with nice clean 80w90 GL5 Gear Oil).
Power Steering Fluid Change. (Sucked out the fluid in the pump tank and replaced with fresh fluid).
    Washed car and vacuumed interior.
Check and adjusted the air pressure in all of the tires.

    And that's about it...

Oh, then we took down the Christmas lights, tree, and decorations so things are all back to normal.

Yeah, I would say that my Firebird is maintained extremely well. I figure that the time I spend in preventive maintenance is better then dealing with breakdowns.

I bought one of those $3 siphon pumps from Autozone and that thing has paid for itself 10 times over...

Next I plan to siphon out the coolant overflow tank and fill it up with some fresh coolant. I flushed and filled the radiator a few months ago but the coolant in the overflow looks pretty nasty.

When I did the rear brakes last month I had to bleed the lines so that was basically a brake fluid change.

Then we will see what is next... I am thinking new bump stops, the ones on the car are shot.

Ok, bump stops have been ordered from Energy Suspension.

And RockAuto has a box of tune up parts for my wife's Mitsubishi heading my way. That place has really great deals if you buy the parts on closeout. Full tune up (Cap, Rotor, Wires, Plugs) for $50. All quality parts too.

Ok. Changed Power steering fluid again. Now it is nice and clean.

Also installed new OEM radiator cap and pcv valve.

                          Done...

Just got home from the local town bar. A few beers and a few wings with my wife.

Tons of compliments on my car. Small place where you park right out front and there are even tables outside, car was parked right in front.

                            Makes ya proud...

I've been postponing my spark plugs since Oct. of last year.

I swear I'll do it next week.
