  • Droid Motorola or HTC

So apparently I've been able to upgrade my phone since May. I've been using this e810 forever.. There's something that looks like dielectric grease starting to ooze all over the screen from the inside.

Anyways, I can get a Droid Motorola for 100 bucks or a Droid by HTC for free. I don't know jack about these phones. I could research em but if anyone here knows anything or has any opinions please share.

pfft.. I hate iPhones. Everyone I've talked to at AT&T stores (employees) hate them too. They unanimously recommended the Blackberry Bold 9700 and so it's what I got. I love it, and it's also available for Verizon.

I'm not entirely sure about the reasonings behind the employees hating iPhones other than they said they are very unreliable and have all kinds of problems and are missing features many other phones have, but I mainly don't like touch screen phones because I hate fingerprints, so I avoided touch screens altogether.

I'll also say that my Dad has an iPhone, and although he likes it, he's on his 3rd or 4th now I think because they kept having fatal errors.

I vote Blackberry as well. Awesome phones. I have not had a single issue with mine.

idk about the htc one but some of my friends have the moto droid and its pretty sweet. it does a sh!tload of stuff. and obviously it runs on the android os so thats pretty nice also. an easy-to-use interface is the biggest part for me on a cell phone so i like the iphone but not so much the blackberries. although i played on a storm for a minute and its really fun to text on lol. i have the lg env touch and i love it.

my iphone 3gs has a fancy screen that doesnt allow it to get finger prints, on it, i forget what apple calls it but its cool as hell and much beter tha the screen on my friends 3G.

to the op, i would go with the moto droid, its a much better phone even tho its pretty ugly.

i have the samsung i910 or omnia through verizon and love it, it's an all touch smart phone that'll beat out any blackberry. it's a microsot mobile phone with windows interface.

                          Re: Droid Motorola or HTC

I had numerous blackberry's over about a 3-4 year period, and then I upgraded to my iPhone. Blackberry is a nice phone, but it gave me alot of problems, and was not even comparable to the iPhones capabilities.

I had so many issues with blackberry I dont think id buy one again. The storm is nice, but my buddy has one and he says its flaky also.

lets say I had a blackberry and it sucked. Bought it brand new and it randomly turned off with full battery, called people even when lock amd just sucked period. I now have the iphone and love it.

I'm on the same boat as you. Verizon suscriber ready to make another commitment. I have a Motorola LG VX8700 and so far I'm happy with it. I did a little research on YouTube that would help you out between the two. Droid vs Eris: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXufjYsYErk

You could have the Droid, it was made for real men. 16GB for data or music storage if you're into that.
You could have the fancy HTC Eris, I'll say it was made for women.

Or... wait for Googles Nexus One. Sure it's hella expensive ( $500 ) and astonishingly faster than Droid. It comes unlocked meaning you have a choice of telecom carriers. Google is becoming a major player in transforming the cellpone marketing game again to benefit you, the consumer.

Why not start the new year with a shiny Nexus One? This is what I'm purchasing soon. Release date was yesterday.
