  • 99' TA high mileage, opinions?

I recently found a 99' TA ls1, 180,000mi. The dealership wants $3,000 for it my camaro is in much better shape appearance wise. I haven't looked at the TA in person yet but it appears to have been slightly wrecked in the front end from the pictures. Is there anything I should look for on a high mileage LS1?

I would go to ls1tech.com and ask them. If you think it's wrecked it probably is. Also carfax is not always correct and doesn't show all wrecks.

Not too worried about the body, if anything i'd have a complete donor car for my NBM camaro. Going to check it out tomorrow, signing up for ls1tech now. Thanks man.

I'll sell you a donor car for much less, and with much less mileage. Complete swap.

If you're using it as a donor car, just make sure that the donor parts you want off it are going to be worth more than the $3K you'd be paying for it. I'd def try to talk them down if it turns out to be a piece of junk with only parts potential.

I went in looked at it today in this horrible snow thats coming down. Compression is way off, tranny is leaking fluid (it was almost empty when i got there) The front end has definitely been wrecked. I passed on it, may turn out to be more of a headache than its worth.
