I don't know about that. The V6 that's coming up weighs 3460lbs. That's already a plain Jane Mustang.

it doesnt really matter anyways, any which way it comes out its still going to be much lighter than the maro.

also, i just read that the stangs next addition in 2014 will be IRS. it'll add some more weight but still be lighter. GM better find a way to start getting this car on a diet or it might be in for a *** kicking at all tracks.

you know i used to like stangs. my dad worked for ford for soooo many years and i was always taught that it was ford or nothing. lol now my dad no longer works for ford and hes been away over 20 years. now my entire family drives gm. i cant even picture myself driving a ford. maybe a rental beater but thats about it!

im not the biggest mustang fan but im very happy that ford is bringing back the 5.0 it was a very stong motor and with this gens mods itll be pretty sweet but just like what it says on the poster i have on my wall "35 years and the camaro is still faster"

plus think about this we may have a heavy car but a v6 maro or bird with minimal mods will beat the v8 mustang and it wieghs how much less. yea on paper it doesnt make sense but if ford says its got 300 crank hp theres a good chance its got less than 260 crank hp. at least gm says our cars have 200 crank hp and i bet if anyone of us put our car on the dyno we'd rate at 200 or even more crank hp.

what are you babbling about? a 4th gen with minimal mods isnt beating a new 5.0 or even current 4.6 mustang. new camaros are dipping in the 12s with as heavy as they are, the mustangs will too probably easier given the weight difference. aint no minimal bolt on v6 doing that.

                            Re: 5.0 Mustang is back

new 5.0 mustang as reviewed by car and driver put out 412 crank hp @ 6500 and 390 pounds of torque at 4250, but was not available to launch for specs. it was estimated to weigh between 3500-3700lbs, and capable of 0-60's in the mid to high 4 seconds, just under 5 at least.

very comparable to the SS, but the 5.0 will have a better power to weight ratio. so either way, this fight won't be a knock out in either corner.

car and driver tested the camaro ss at 4.8 seconds to 60 and weighing 3800+ lbs.

But at the end of the day its still a ford, our 4th gens look better than them, and were 8 to 15 years old.

this is the lounge is it not i can babble a little and sorry for for not specifying i meant the 4.6 mustang and i dont know if youve ever raced one with a 3.8l but with minimal "mods" not bolt ons yes u can beat one with out any problems. right now i can go up to a 4.6 mustang and keep right nexted to him till 70 with a exhaust and a intake. minimal "mods" in my book are cam, tuning and gears. bolt ons are exhaust, intake and a short throw sifter. sorry if i think differently.
