Smart choice there, domestically speaking. Who decided black? I like it.

Bigger cars are definitely safer cars.

I'm a big fan of those new Malibus.. And the fact that it's black just makes it that much better! Not the interior color combo I'd pick, but still very nice choice. I'm interested to see how you like it after having it a while, those are up there on my want list.

so far i LOVE it. its a smoother ride the a 10 honda accord and 08 camry. it's so silent inside with almost no road noise. the space is unbelievable. only main down fall so far is the fact that it's an auto....but most "plush" cars are

I just rented a Malibu while I was up in NY for the weekend. Not totally impressed but a pretty nice car overall. Best of luck with it.

atta girl! It can get frustrating to dd, but as long as you keep it clean, it looks better than any other color imo.

Re: another new chevy to the family

I had one of the '09 Malibus as a rental while my car was in the shop for a couple weeks. They're pretty comfortable inside and don't look too bad on the outside (especially in black). The rear end took a little getting used to, appearance-wise. I wasn't really that impressed with the 4 cylinder version unfortunately. It got great gas mileage, but felt a little underpowered for such a heavy body. It also had a tendency to struggle a bit going up the steep hill to my house.

But the important part is the top notch safety features and comfort. Definitely a nice pickup. :D

bingo that is another reason why i got another chevy...cause my ss/sc is top of the line also.

at first i took the malibu off the list cause i didn't like the rear. but LOVED THE REST. butttt it did grow on me.

and this black has a silver flake to it so it almost looks sting ray gray at night

and she's a slug going up hills...but i take it slow to get the most mpg ne who

Agreed. The rental I had was very roomy, very comfortable, got great gas mileage, but was underpowered. With that in mind, overall it is a good car, great family car, and very safe. Lots of different storage compartments as well, and a very good sized trunk. Fit 4 suitcases with no problem at all.

The only other thing that I noticed was that the windshield defroster does not work very well without the fan in high the entire time. It is aimed very low on the windshiled and during a cold rain in NY it was difficult to keep the inside of the windslield clear. Keep an eye on that. The rear defroster works great though.

I'm surprised a lot of people weren't fans of the back of these. As soon as it came out, the rear styling is what pulled me in. Most of the average cars look incredibly similar as of late, and it's nice to see something that actually looks very different from the rest. I love the back of these new Malibus!

I liked the back too... I actually dislike the front more.

                                now what I really like....

Won't have the turbo 2.8 like the concept has, but will come with a turbo ecotec + 6speed and AWD availible.
