Germany surrendered May 8th, 1945, while the first A-bomb (dubbed Little Boy) was carried by the USS Indianapolis, and on August 6th, 1945, was dropped on Hiroshima.

Thanks for the info, I bet not too many people know that, I probably did at one time but my memory isn't as well as it used to be. They were almost was close, by months , becuase I thought I remembered they were planning on using it on Germany at some point. But don't you think if they had it ready they would of used it on Germany? They really deserved it.

Probably, but not on Berlin, for the same reasoning they didn't use it on Tokyo.

What about Stalin he was responsible for over 25million deaths and then he would erase you from history. By having his guys change pictures and burn all papers that ever mentioned your existence so that's why he has flown under the radar for so long

Thats true, didn't they choose the places that had the least amount of people to be affected when they used the A-bomb just to show them the power of it, so they could get them to surrender?

Dunno, I liked it but it was slow and really didnt like all of the translation. Definatley not one of his best films. But I saw Avatar in IMAX 3-D, and that was pretty gnarly, It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time and I initially thought it was going to suck hard.

Truman knew that if he were to have bombed Tokyo, then the decision makers of Japan would have died, leaving the country leaderless, and without the power to end the war for them. But at the same time, Truman also vowed that he would "ruin" Japan city by city, and dropping the bomb in a desolate area of Japan wouldn't have had the awe-effect that hitting a major city would. Within 12 days of dropping the Hiroshima bomb, Japan surrendered. But Little Boy and Fat Man killed about 100,000 people within seconds, and probably a few million more over a period of time due to cancer or radiation sickness.

Tried watching it again last night, fell asleep 3/4's of the way through. I'm destined to never see the end of this movie!
