  • Betrayed by ex car club.

I used to be apart of an Fbody club(Lets not say their name cause I don't want to attract unwanted drama to this site) many ages ago when i first bought my Camaro.

I was the only V6 in the group everybody else had the LS1, we had one 1977 Firebird with I think it was the 6.6 V8. The group consisted of mainly military folks there was only like 3 cilivians total including myself. I remember and throughout the summer of 2008 we had a few cruises and had lots of fun at the local meets. We were the new big ****s in town to rival the local Mustang and Mopar guys It was a great!.

However that fall many people in the club were either getting deployed or were getting PCS'ed so august of that year we decided to go our seperate ways and call it quits. Sad weekend indeed but I considered myself a free agent and the Club was in the past.

Well a few years later I still have my V6 Fbody, Now I'm apart of Ricekiller.com Colorado and yesterday we decided to go hit up the new car meet location and after have a bit of fun I see a peweter 01 Camaro looking nice pull up and me and another one of the ricekiller guys decided to go check this camaro out and when I got up there I noticed that the Logo from our old car club was on the back and I was thinking "sooo you guys have resurrected yourselves from the dead?" only 1 of the old school member remains and it turns out he's the biggest prick out of the pack and now he's running the show.

Not only that but the new guys completely new that have joined up are also a bunch of jerk off's and *** hats who think they are better than everybody else. I had small chat with these guys and get things going again but apparently they didn't want that.

So my bud and I went to go take pix of his miata and my camaro across from the location near a tractortrail lot and when we got back these guys were talking sh!t about me and my friend and his miata he confronted them and they were talking back in fourth and such I was in a different conversation. I didn't hear anything about until they left and a few other friends from the meet and others I had met that afternoon who were there came by and told me what was going on

After everything cleared up these guys are running a bunch of stock LS1 Z28's with very minor bolt on's but man they have some very big mouths and to say that I don't own a real Fbody and never have owned one I'm a ricer for modifying a V6 instead of "Trading in my POS for a V8" and all this garbage.

You know it pisses me off that we went from being a cool car club were we wouldn't judge anyone to a car clicke were if you don't meet their requrements your not cool enough to hangout with them. When our old leader left and I guess they put this new knuckledragger in charge and he seems to be recruiting all the local *******s with the v8's. The guy who used to run the show didn't care at all what kind of fbody you had hell at one point and time his second in command traded his T/A in for an EVO and he was still cruising with us.

I guess good things do come to an end.

Kinda sounds like MFBA. Bunch of people think that their **** doesn't stink, do whatever, and say whatever they want. The only person with a V6 over there has a set of jugs, so naturally, she's respected (she does have a fast car, just needs fixed from what I can tell). But for the most part, they are IT nerds who have a little money to throw around, and think their way is the best way, and everyone else should be banned. Bird of Prey might be able to chime in....

There are some good people over there, but most are d-bag's. But when comparing this site to that one, there is no comparison. I would much rather be here with fellow V6'ers, on a national scene.

The whole concept is goofy. It gets even lamer when you consider 99% of the people who are in car clubs.

I'm not talking about the clubs that rent out tracks on occasion and do stuff. I'm talking about the ones that are all losers (people with no other friends) who sit around trying to pretend that the stickers on their cars make it into a serious thing. Sit back and look at what most clubs are... a group of outcasts sitting outside Taco Bell trying to use their cars to make friends.

Re: Betrayed by ex car club.

A few car-minded friends and I had a discussion about those types of clubs just the other day. There were many FnF quotes thrown around in jest in regards to the topic.

"It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car."

Street racing and sitting around bragging about your car... sounds like a lame club to me. The most active groups around here are more interested in canyon carving, autocross, and rally. Drag strips happen every once in a while, but don't draw near the attendance of the other events. IMO, a group with variety is way better than the same group of cars that people just throw money into to see who can reach the next mile marker or quarter mile first.

As for making fun of someone else's car... assuming your buddy has a 5 or 6 speed in that Miata, he should have no problem putting those F-bodies to shame in the corners. For the nay-sayers that talk about you not having a "real F-body"... well, you just gotta grit your teeth and put up with them sometimes. There's always someone out there that can shut them up and show their narrow minds that the cars they have aren't "real" either.

^ ya....why can't I find any of those type of guys...especially once the ITBs are done...I ask them to come to the track and run for some cash...Hell, I'd still ask the way I sit for a cash run...heads up race.

Strip a few hundred bucks out of there pockets and you'll see how fast you have a "real" F-body...I love it when guys are too over confident..too bad I just havent been able to lure any to the strip yet...except for my buddies 09 mustang GT... which I got a nice video of :excited:

lol thats pretty much my point.

i look at it this way:

clubs: idiots who hang out at fast food resturaunts at midnight and rice/ race around being tards. usually consisting of nothing special even though they'd like to make you think they are.

organizations/associations: people with lives that like to occasionally get together rent tracks out or have meet and greets once in a while.

Nothing against either Rog or Steve, but he did say they had local meets. Remember, it usually starts as something small, something like the local meets and shows before it becomes something large where you're renting tracks. I know you both like to whiff your own sh*t sometimes, but give the guy some credit of being around and having some sort of passion for something in life. Sometimes I gotta think about where the comraderie of this site has gone.....

For ****'s sake, I argued with T-Mill for a couple weeks over Obama, and even I can still buy a part from him. BTW, if you get a chance to read this, thx. Ive been needing an EGR delete for some time.

I'm just saying that he shouldn't take it personally. Most of those guys were probably picked on in high school.

Ive always considered time to be the most valuable thing anyone can have. So whenever someone wastes it on my behalf, I tend to get pissed. The concept is no different. He put his time into something, and now has to watch while some D-bag ruins it. It can be aggravating.

the comraderie around here died long ago, i think we all know the reasons for it already.

Its one person, and thats HIS choice. The site is still here, that hasn't changed. If he doesn't want to be a part of it, then that is his choice. It doesnt stop the rest of us. If I needed Steve or Robert to feel like I had some commonality with the people here, then there wouldn't have been a reason to be here this long. This site isn't about them, its about V6 fbodies. If neither one of them want to be a part of this community, then I feel sorry for them. If you feel like you need them to feel a part of this community, then I feel sorry for you.
