If I needed Steve or Robert to feel like I had some commonality with the people here, then there wouldn't have been a reason to be here this long. This site isn't about them, its about V6 fbodies. If neither one of them want to be a part of this community, then I feel sorry for them. If you feel like you need them to feel a part of this community, then I feel sorry for you.

not really that, its more the like it or leave it attitude. no drive to keep people here like there used to be. but its all been over so no reason to rehash that 10 page argument again. it is what it is. which is why i didnt really want to say more than i needed to.

Yeah, no need to bring this debate into an unrelated thread. Lets stick to bashing car clubs, haha :p.

It wouldn't shock me if thats the reason why. We are currently setting up our own location at a shop thats going to open up on the first of the month. These guys on the other hand just got back from Iraq and like most of the guys from Fort carson they are grumpy.:omg:

Most car clubs are like that, esp. if they are the young bunch.

I like hanging out with older people, older than me. They don't really care if your fbody is being held together by duct tapes or if you have an I6 or V6 under the hood.

I used to be a part of Pontiac Fan Club. Back then I was shocked to know that the guy I worked with, who happened to be a librarian, was the President. He had a beat up 87 TA. There was a lot of comradarie. Unfortunately, just like the company, it died.

I just joined AZFBA a few mnths ago for a $20 lifetime membership fee although I registered bak in 05' so I could go on the classifieds. They do alot of hanging out at peoples houses and will do a cruise no and then. Also rent out some of the tracks for the day fo rlike $30-$60 a member but they have like 60 -100 members show up ,the more members they get they will refund some of your money if they get more than enough, damm honest too. They also don't dog the 3.8 Camaros since some have older Camaros and like SS HHR's and different cars trucks they will show up in. They seem really cool and laid back which I like. They just send out emails to let people know whats going on and can sign up for a event just using paypal and then your registered. I'm getting some Chrome 17 X 11 rear rims and tires for $250 from a member and there in perfect shape, so they help their fellow members. like I gave a member who needed some rear/front V6 springs for free, wich I don't mind halping members out, including on this board. So to the OP aslong as your in a car club you like now , I wouldn't sweat the small stuff, just build up your V6 and go whoop some @ss at the track if you see them.

The only person with a V6 over there has a set of jugs, so naturally, she's respected (she does have a fast car, just needs fixed from what I can tell). But for the most part, they are IT nerds who have a little money to throw around, and think their way is the best way, and everyone else should be banned. Bird of Prey might be able to chime in....

There are some good people over there, but most are d-bag's. But when comparing this site to that one, there is no comparison. I would much rather be here with fellow V6'ers, on a national scene.

It's gone far down hill. It used to be a bunch of cool people doing cool things. Now it's just cliques and *****ing. We had a thrivant V6 section with Magnus, me, Dom, SixVI6 John(who rarely posts if at all anymore), DriveACamaro/DriveATransAm Roy, Tease Carmen, Epic Matt, CamaroZach, however, like all things in life, everyone went their seperate ways. Carmen is the only one with a V6 anymore, because she has cubic yards of money in that car. She is good people, I'm happy to have known her for the past nearly 10 years.

As far as other stuff goes, people would talk **** to Keith and I about our cars. We didn't give a ****. We made our cars faster. He helped me, and I helped him (where I could). Some people were supportive, other were d-bags. That's life. Just a little v6 with some spray ;) suprised plenty of people to the point that I couldn't get a race for decent money anymore.

To the OP, move on, you have memories of what it used to be. If you're so hung up on it, make your own.

Wes, MFBA still has some good people. Only reason I post is for the drag racing anymore. I remember the old school days of going to GLD nearly every day, the hype around HACKER JOE's car (first 10 second LS1 in the world), seeing 50% of the board out at the local cruise spots every weekend. Strip clubs, parties, road trips, wild times. I think you only see the forum side of MFBA, which is sadly all that is left.

Between horist, Dan99, Dood, Lug****s, and SOMETIMES Dom, they're killing me. Favortism lies heavily with horist and Dood, they've gotten away with more **** on that site than I would ever allow anyone or myself on this one.

There are good people there, sometimes they like me, sometimes they don't. I stick around for the good ones, ones I wouldn't mind meeting. The others are on my ignore list now, which is a shame, I would never try to ignore anyone if I wasn't already told to do so.

I don't know Carmen well enough to really say anything about her, I would like to see her car a little. IMHO, I think she payed a little too much for everything, but it is an impressive car nonetheless. Matt seems "moody" at times, least from what I have gathered from him in the short time I met him, and Roy is ok, seems to be the only person that sticks up for me in the union posts...LOL.

You let me know when something is going on, and I'll show up in my bucket of a car, unless Dan99, Dood, or Horist's there. Mike stabbed me in the back after giving him praise, so I have absolutely no love for him at all. I got banned for pissing on him after he started talking **** about me, so I have avoided him when I can.

Re: Betrayed by ex car club.

When I used to belong to car clubs, we usually didn't all have the same make/model car. They were hot rods. We would get together and work on the cars. Swap motors, body work, etc. And we did go cruising, but usually to meet up with other car clubs and have a small car show at a large mall, taking up a corner of the lot.

The whole concept was guys who liked cars getting together and having fun. I didn't matter what you drove, as long as you were willing to work on it and show it, you were a member. And no, Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet.

Weird, I don't have a problem with horist, he's an alright guy. You seem to have issues with the most opinionated people there, and let them push your buttons. I just stay out of the political/union/whatever BS. It's not worth it, nothing will change.

You know what to say to get on their good sides. Tell them you love the Bears, and quit bringing up Indy, and they will love you. Otherwise, you dug your own grave on that one bud! :)

Paid a little too much?!?!?! You have NO clue on what she spent on that thing. Feel free to PM me a ball park #, you won't even be close. Lets just say that a 7 second turbo LSx car would have been cheaper. However, it is EXACTLY what she wanted. It's all I've ever heard her talk about, twin turbo v6. Kinda sucks that she keeps getting hosed by it. If I were her, I'd talk to some people with some actual knowledge in the Series II arena, instead of having race car builders keep taking stabs at it. Matt is what he is, moody is a good description. Roy is a superdouche, if you actually met him, you'd agree.

Plan on going to Cordova then. None of those clowns will make it there. Horist will only show up to a meeting where food is involved. D00D might show up, but he's easily ignored in person as well. He's too busy playing videographer. I honestly can't say I've ever seen Dan99 at a meeting. And that's going all the way back to 2000!
