why exactly would you go with a donovan block?

they are very expensive, and can handle way more power than 99% of the normal people could ever dish at it.

a dart block is much cheaper and will withstand 800+hp all day long without a problem.

just saying.

So can the LS1, LSX, 502, LT1, LT4, LT5, L98, ext....ext....

If that car could hit 240mph in 1984 using a Donovan it can do wonders for my camaro.;)

Last time I heard that was from a guy who had a riced up civic. He said to me, "Did you know there's a V8? Why didn't you get that?"

I said to him, "Same reason why didn't you get a real sportscar?"

i dont know why you guys worry about it, once you have one it just turns into another **** measuring contest. oh you have a lt1 shoulda got a ls1. oh you have a ls1 shoulda got a ls6 vette. oh you have a ls6 vette, shoulda held out for a new zo6. oh you have a 500hp zo6? why didnt you just get a zr1? it never ends

X2 Van, that is the way it goes, esp with all different types of racers 4cyl. to 12 cyl. and bikes. So thats why I stuck with my V6, I can mod the suspension, interior, exterior and motor the way I want too. Also get V8 horsepower so I can shut them up. I mean the LS1 guys can't talk too much crap when a WRX or EVO 8-9 will run low 10's-11's and there 4cyl.'s, I respect that but I don't respect the appearance mods some of them do but you have to respect their #'s they are putting out. I like the creativity of car mods, whether appearance, interior , exterior and engine mods/appearance of the engine. It could run 18's in the 1/4 but if it looks bad@ss I will give them respect for doing the work and putting the time into it.

I've never had anyone say that to me, and I spend a fair amount of time at the track hanging around guys who drive real sports cars.

Ya I hear it all the time...but then I just shake my head and remind or enlighten people about the LT1/LS1/Mustang GT's I've beaten at the race track...then I remind them how cheap a 3.8 block is to obtain if something were to go wrong....if they still continue to press on about the issue I tell them the date I am going to the track next and ask them if they would like a cash race...no one ever bites though :(

Or I get some people that will refuse to race me because I always say heads up race at the track, and while some of their timeslips times might beat me...they know they'll loose heads up because of my rx time (I can consistenly pull a .1xx or faster if I am trying, I got the slips lieing around somewhere to prove it to)

Im not even fast and I can't even get guys to throw a friendly 20$ down...just goes to show alot of people talk...most of em are buddies though, or buddies of buddies...

LOL, it doesn't matter what you have people will always ask stuff like that. . . i have a Z28 with a LT1 with 100,xxxmiles and all i hear is why don't you get a LS1? it doesn't matter what ya got, people will always ask your reasoning, thats when you smile and just go on
