Thats pretty good, but I'll still keep my Camaro, once its turboed it won't make a difference. Even now with my weight reduction I think I could hang with one of them N/A 2800-2900LBS compared to 3400-3500LBS. But I do hope GM comes out with a turbo V6 that would be cool.
08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine
camaro is set to get lighter in a few years when they change over to th new platform (cant remember the name of it off my head right now) but it'll be a good bit lighter, plus its not like the new maros are squeezing all the power out of the current motors, im willing to be just by tweaking the tuning gm can pull another 20-30hp out of the 3.6 and who the hell knows how much out of the ls3 if it ever went to direct injection.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

when they come out with the next gen camaro, it might not have a v8 option, just v6, so im sure gm is planning on doing something

i seriously doubt that, numbers have already shown that well over half of all camaro's that have been sold to date are v8. otherwise they might as well scrap the car IMO. no v8 option, no dice.

X2 , I think they should have a V8 SS with a LS9 and then a Z28 with twin turbo V6 and then a V6 with a better 3.6 with more power. So then you would have your V8 500+ HP , 400+ hp and a car thats great on fuel.

They have already been testing the new 5.0 cars as well, they are running 12.80's with journalist drivers. I must admit, this new Mustang is pretty bad ***. There is a video on youtube of a new 5.0 whooping a 2010 Camaro!

I think if you throw an LS9 in to a Camaro the price will be out of reach for a lot of people.
I personally would like to see the base model be a slightly stronger/lighter V6, a Z28 with the LS3 also stronger/lighter and maybe throw a turbo/supercharger on it and call it an SS.

If you throw an LS9/A in a Camaro, the price should be pretty equivilant to the Shelby Cobra GT500. Which is around 50k. That wouldn't unobtainable, they sell the Shelby's pretty quickly.
I doubt lighter is gonna happen with these cars. It's a sad day when a 20 year old full frame SUV weighs less than a Camaro.
If you removed all the safety gear from the new camaro, the weight would be near what a first gen camaro would weigh, so I'm not sure their gonna get much light. One of the gm engineers mentioned that in an article to superchevy or hotrod.
The new z28 is going to have a supercharged v8 good for 550hp.
