I'm nervous

I'm leaving in less than an hour to go audition for a band as their singer. I'm f'n scared. So nervous in fact that I'm posting about it on here. However, a lot of people are confident that I'm going to impress them but I'm not! This is bull crap. I'll put their myspace link below. I like the music and all but I don't particularly like the vocals they have. He sounds sloppy to me but that guy can hit some notes.. I sing in a lower range than this guy which is what's making me so nervous. I can nail some Billy Idol, or almost any Bush song. But these songs hurt. Maybe if they like me I can get em to tune it down a little. Ugh. Anyways, here's their myspace. I'm gonna attempt Finding Why and Just Because I'm Nice F'd.

and im sure if your good and you have potential. They'll recognize that and work with you on the overall tune.

Their singer sounds kinda generic. I think a deeper voice would be better for those songs.

lmao, no.. I don't know really. They said they still have a few other guys to try out which is never a good thing to hear. Also, I don't think I sang well. I could hardly hear myself. They have good instrumental equipment but their vocal stuff is really lacking. However, they did let me try to just improvise on a song they're working on. That's a good sign. But overall, I know I could have done better if I had some headphones or an earpiece to hear myself. They said they could only try out 2 people per week due to their schedules so apparently I'll know if they liked me in a week or so.

I have some stuff on a myspace page I did a long time ago. It's like 4-5.. or more years old. And I've come a long way in that time but if you guys want to hear my songs... ugh. It's almost embarrassing but here, www.myspace.com/dustinscellardoor

In the mean time, i'll just rock out some karaoke and annoy my neighbors with Rock Band.

Okkkk, since I was in music mode I was playing around with my acoustic. I had it tuned way down. So I was trying to play one of my songs I have on myspace and had to tune the guitar way up back to a normal standard tuning. Got to the last string and Snap! I said screw it, I barely use that one anyways.
And to make a long story short. I accidentally stumbled upon some awesome chords and remade Just More Pain into this freaking awesome acoustic jam.
I have to get my recording equipment back here from my parents but I'm gonna get it done as soon as I can and let you guys have the first listen. I'm a perfectionist so it's hard for me to like anything I write but this is something I'm really really happy with.
Even if this band doesn't want me, I don't care because this is freaking stellar. And I'll get to rub it in their face and they'll be like.. oh.. ****....

my favorite is before we sleep. i just listened to all of them twice lol. your acoustic version was pretty sweet but i like the vocals from the original better.

on a side note, i recorded myself singing bat country by avenged sevenfold and autotuned it a few months ago, i think it sounds pretty good :)

lmao you liked the original better? I'm getting a better mic to record with on monday, we'll see. I'm going to produce it more, maybe get my keyboard over here.. definitely my bass. But I thought.. even though the EQ of the acoustic wasn't amazing, I thought I sang it better. Felt better at least. It's a pre-stage before the final.

autotune? What's that? Lemme hear it. Make a myspace page and upload it.

Oh and!! I won the karaoke contest at the bar this week! 50 bucks! Hells yeah!

the guitar part was definitely really cool sounding but yeah i liked the vocals from the original better. although, there was one part where you were really clear and i liked that part.

autotune is what t-pain uses :D
