    initial impact point: [IMG][/IMG]
hard to tell because of the sun, but the rim is shattered, all of the red is her paint. notice the shard of ceramic brake pad sticking through the bottom lip of the tire and the entire rotor assembly sitting at an angle.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    [IMG][/IMG]
as the cars sat directly after contact and stopping. notice i'm about in the grass and she's still on my side of the road (can't tell from this photo, but there's enough room for another car to fit on the street beside her)

    [IMG][/IMG]

residential intersection i was headed toward. this is the turn she came whipping around and straight at me.

Thats it? Thats all the damage you got? I thought the damn thing might have been totaled. $3500 and its good as new, and the insurance will cover all but the deduct. Its NOT that bad really.

yeah, that and deep scratches that go all the way down the driver door and rear quarter panel. but no she wont be totalled, but there's barely anything stock that was hit, everything has to be found aftermarket to make it whole again, which is where it gets dicey with insurance and why i'm concerned.

hood, bumper, quarter panels, and some other body work down the side and the actual "damage" is fixed yes, but it's the upgrades that suffered.

Did you not set up your policy to cover aftermarket hardware?

Dude that sucks a$$. Its like she was aiming for the mods or something. Is the insurance going to cover the aftermarket parts? Halo's, Z06's, rotor, ect? I know mine wouldnt. hopefully yours will.

I was referring to the body parts like the fender, nose and hood... hopefully they will even replace everything else without giving you a hassle

yep she pretty much had a target on all my work...

i was (and still am) concerned with them replacing the aftermarket parts, but what i'm being assured is that the insurance must put the car back how it was (not to just stock) before the accident including the upgrades since she was found to be completely at fault and i should not have the condition of my car reduced because of that.

but this is one i will fight tooth and nail if need be, i wont be downgrading.

Dude. Very sorry to hear that. I can't believe she would have the nerve to tell you it's your fault. She probably saw the very nice, expensive looking car she ran into and panicked even more.

It shouldn't be totaled though, but the after market parts might be a little harder to make up for. I know I didn't previously have coverage on after market parts and I talked to my insurance agent and she just told me as long as I can prove I had it (pictures) they will cover me for it at no additional cost.

Best of luck for the whole insurance dilemma. Her insurance company should definitely cover everything though.

Her insurance must, yes, so long as she is found to being at fault. But if there is any part of it thats your fault, then all YOUR insurance company would have to do is replace it back to stock form, unless you had a custom aftermarket addition to the policy.

And if you don't have that custom addition, I would HIGHLY suggest getting it.

^^ Agreed. He did say she was found to be completely at fault, so he should be safe for this one at least. Definitely make sure you have coverage on your own policy for after market parts, though.

I will be adding a $15,000 addition to my car this next policy period in June , its like going from $35 a month to $70 a month , but I have to have all my paper work and price of all my mods, I'm glad I keep all my paper work for the amount and plus some I think so I might up the price of it. But I think its worth it, just seeing stories like this.
                            08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

definitely something i'll be looking further into myself ^

if i ever get this thing back in top shape and get ready for my stage 3 overhaul, i'll be investing in a serious aftermarket policy upgrade.
